I can't ... B'cause I'm too ... or ... not enough ...
I can't ... B'cause I'm too ... or ... not enough ... (fill in the blanks)
The all familiar and most common statement we hear amongst ourselves , right ? What more , is that , 1) The list can go on forever (ANY excuse is better than none ) . 2) The reasons or excuses we use are usually "self-imposed" and almost "forced-in" .
Are we limiting ourselves , By ourselves or maybe "We Know better than to go there !" , or are we saying "Maybe the God we serve ain't that Big after all" , Either way , those statements don't taste too good huh ?
Well here are a couple of things that our Lord TOLD us about Himself . First He says " I know there will be the likes of you who will come along and tell me those things that you think are "original" and think they are unique to you ONLY . How about we go back a couple seconds ( give or take a couple thousand years on your time frame)"
"Here are some of the things I have heard & seen and shared with you ."
Abraham was too old , Jacob was insecure , Leah was unattractive , Joseph was abused , Moses stuttered , Gideon was poor , Sampson was co-dependent , Rahab was immoral , David had an affair and all kinds of family problems , Elijah was suicidal , Jeremiah was depressed , Jonah was reluctant , Naomi was a widow , John the baptist was eccentric (to say the least) Peter was hot-tempered and acted on impulse , Martha worried a lot , the Samaritan woman couldn't keep a husband , Zacchaeus was unpopular , Thomas had doubts , Paul had poor health , Timothy was too shy and timid ...
What's the common denominator that these people shared ?
"They were ALL used by our Lord for OUR benefit ( the generation to come) !
Whenever I say I cant , the babe(s) in Christ close by saying "well if he can't , I cant" and the elder ones are saying " Unless I become like God , I will NOT do it" , We are all too familiar with the last person said that right ?
In Christ , our Lord
