Congrats 4 another day .
To answer your question about friend's brother issue , I would flat-out say no , ... couple of reasons behind it . 1) .. to put it bluntly .. it is none of our biz what others do , think or say . 2) Using words like , "appears" , "suspicion" , are not good grounds of approach ... especially when we dealing with a month or so of abstinence , though it be a great achievement for us , but others (especially the ones in denial) do no see it that way , and may retaliate with some harsh response(s) that we may not be ready to handle yet .
Let us first , be strong in our walk , so when the time presents itself for your friend to ask for help , then we will be at the ready to pick them up .
Like Pine and others are suggesting , let us first , clear our own paths ( through the steps) then see where our Lord leads us to .
In Christ , our Lord

I
I have learned the hard way that I have to put ME first in trying to stay clean. Many times while I was clean for a while, I wanted to save the whole world.
I suppose I'm saying, you be an example to the other person. Time will come that they will see you as having something that they want.
And............. congrats for another day!
See YOU tomorrow!
Luv ya

to everyone
thanx so much! as of 6:30pm today, I have 35 days. well, turns out my pastor is going to talk to this friend about his drinking. he called my pastor, my pastor's wife, and another friend of ours, and they all felt that it sounded like he was drinking, so we're not going to say anything to my friend or her brother, and just let our pastor handle it. It all depends on how my friend's brother responds to our pastor, he'll just let him know that there are resources available if he's interested. one of the men in our church leads an AA meeting for men on sundays, but we'll see how things turn out. I'm considering the counseling option, I want to make sure I have the time and personal commitment for it. definetely something I want to look into, and that I'm sure will be very beneficial. later!

none
a few years ago I attended AA for about 6 months before I discovered NA in my community, I've been attending NA for 2 1/2 years, my dad was in AA for 32 years when he died, my younger sister has been in AA for 11 years, and I'd attended many meetings with them, I remember attending al-anon meetings as a child. I know my dad credited AA with saving his life. Although NA is my primary source of help, AA will always be a part of my life.

Hi sis
Your sobriety not only blesses you and those around you but others as they hear that you have made it to day 35! Or wait is it 36 now?
Don't think of the counseling as counseling. It's not like what we think of as counseling. It's the Holy Spirit counseling you. Which makes it 14 days of spiritual growth. It's a way to grow closer to God, understand Him closer and get some help from the Holy Spirit to over come and let go of some things.

36 days, woo hoo!
tonight makes 36 days! I've had 3 months, and almost 6 months in the past, but this past 36 days has been really, really hard. it truly has become one day at a time for me, I can't even think about being sober tommorow or the next day, it's hard enough just getting through one day. I've come to the point where I realize I have absolutely nothing, no power whatsoever of my own. working on day 37 tommorow!

Hi
You stated you have had 3 months and six months sober a time or two. There are 12 simple suggestions stated in the 12 steps in this forum.
Now.............. I say this because I at once had the AA book memorized and I thought I was getting well and was on the road to recovery. It took many years for me to get sick and it takes many days to get well. ONE DAY AT A TIME.
One thing I did MANY times is I thought I had it all together after a few months of being clean. I was WRONG.
I tell you this because I care and only a very few actually stay clean and sober.
It is work. It is a priority.
It is getting closer to our Maker.
As Vahn and I know......... We became sick. One day at the time is a biggie.
My congrats to you.
I have been here sober 3 years and seen many post in here. I have seen 3 who have been successful.
I would like for you to be 4.
It's nice to come home or get up early in the morning to see you have made it another day!
Keep on keeping on.
Luv ya.
