quilting

Recently I purchased (at a garage sale) a book The Quilter's Catalog". Described as being a comprehensive resource guide. Authored by Meg Cox. One chapter is "For the Beginner". It suggests one could join a quilters guild.

If there are any older women in your community who still quilt, ask them to allow you to sit in and watch/learn.

The few times I tried my hand at quilting, I purchased some of my fabric at WalMart....I also used clothing that the children or other family members no longer wore. All cotton is best for beginners.

Good luck...it's a great hobby.
