I got a question...
I'm not sure where to post this...so I figured here would be as good as any place....last night they were talking about the cemetary we have at our church and how all the graves are placed facing east....then someone mentioned the reason being is that Jesus will be coming out of the east when He returns...I felt a tad freaked out by this...because then they discussed how a guy who had killed a woman many years ago was buried in another cemetary facing north and south instead of east and west...anyone know why the direction of the grave would be of such significance?...if the souls are already gone and returned to God what does it matter what direction a person's grave faces?

Hello Mlg
The story you shared about the cemetery, well...I find it very disturbing, but I'll address that in just a sec.
Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
I suppose that is man's "reasoning" for facing the graves eastward. However, when the time comes, for those in their graves to rise, it won't matter if their ashes had been previously thrown into the air and dispersed all over, or even if their ashes are sitting in an urn in some closet -- the CALL will be heard.
Now, to get back to that particular cemetery where the graves were facing north...WOW, could it be yet another example of man attempting to judge another man's eternal destiny?!! How sad is that?
Thank You Lord that You are not limited by man's understanding.
Stevie Wonder wrote and sang a song entitled "Superstition"
Very superstitious, writing's on the wall.
Very superstitious, ladder's 'bout to fall.
Thirteen-month-old baby broke the looking glass.
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past.
When you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer.
Superstition ain't the way.
Hey, hey, hey.
Ooh, very superstitious, wash your face and hands.
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can.
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong.
You don't wanna save me, sad is my song.
When you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer.
Superstition ain't the way.
Hey, hey, hey.
Very superstitious, nothing more to say.
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way.

Hello Mlg
God bless you, dear.
The Apostle Paul tells us, by inspiration of The Holy Spirit, how those that have died in Christ will rise, see: I Thessalonians 4: 15-17.
Then in the book of Revelation, we read how the souls that lived and died on this earth prior to His return will be called into His presence before the great throne of judgment. See Revelation Chapter 20.
Isn't God good to give us His Word?!!! Wooooohooooooo!
Love and hugs to you, Mlg.

The impressions of things people say...that set themselves into the mind of a child...tonight nene and I drove by the cemetery I was talking about in this post...on our way to dinner....and nene says mom...that's the cemetery they were talking about in church last night about the grave placed north to south...I was so glad I had asked what this was all about...as I was able to share with nene the Truth and let her know that God didn't care what direction a person's body is placed in their grave as His judgement was not based upon the direction a body was placed....and that this was something man had done passing their own judgement.
But it sure goes to show...the children HEAR everything...and it is up to us to make sure they receive the correct teachings of the Bible.
Thank you so much Mack for the help...it made a difference tonight in my home.
luv ya
