Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum is a place where those who feel called by the Lord are able to post about any trials or victories they are going through as they serve the Lord by reaching and teaching His children. You can post and then lock your thread so no one can reply, if you so choose. Think of it as your own personal diary or journal that you choose to share with others who are called as to share ideas, experiences and tips as they too serve the Lord.

I just love to go to church...it is my day to spend worshiping and refreshing in the Lord. Seems as if I'm being called to teach one of the children's Sunday school classes more and more. We have Sunday School teachers, but many have been ill lately and unable to teach, so they always come and ask me to teach. I find it a blessing to be asked.

Today when I got to the class, the children were complaining they were called, so I asked if they wanted to go outside and sit on the porch and do their lesson...they eagerly agreed. So off we went. The children are such a joy to teach. They were junior high school aged. We talked about Jesus death today...how and why He died for them. What a blessing to be in the midst of God's children.

Then when we got to church...it was packed...there were lots of people today...and what was even more touching to me is that my sister-in-laws family joined us today. Her parents and sister and niece were there also. It's so awesome to be blessed with a family that loves and believes in Jesus. Seems as if there are fewer and fewer families that go to church together, pray together, and play together anymore...so I am truly thankful the Lord has blessed me with a Godly one. Thank you Jesus.

Today I am thinking on my blessings and thanking God.

This morning I was watching the news and they were talking about these graphic designers and how they have taken what is called the shroud of turin and recreated the image of the body that was wrapped in it...and many believe that Jesus was the one who was wrapped in the shroud...and they go on to show that whoever it was wrapped in the shroud was not only crucified but scourged...anyway...that's just news...but it got me to thinking about my Jesus and what all He did go through especially the scourging...how for every piece of flesh that was ripped from Christ's body...He was doing it for the sins of the world. For every drop of blood He bled...sins were being washed away...my sins...and all those who call upon His name and believe and love Him...just such amazing love that not only God had to sacrifice Jesus...but that Jesus had to sacrifice Himself.

How can people not believe? The news mentioned that Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God...what they don't know is that we don't just believe...we know He is the Son of God :)

How He bled and died and rose again...so I could be free...How thankful I am.

I am kinda down in the dumps tonight...why...cuz I don't understand why God chooses the path He does for me at times...yes, I know He knows best and I should be satisfied with that...but tonight I sit here unsatisfied :( and yes that is selfish...but it just doesn't seem fair...in fact it just stinks....everything is temporary...should know this by now...yet I always have hope...til I loose it.

So easily forgotten
They notice you only when they need or want
But when they are plump and happy
So easily forgotten

So easily forgotten
Makes you wonder if they ever really cared
Or if you were there only because they didn't want to be alone
So easily forgotten

So easily forgotten
They tell you about themselves and how great they are now
Yet they never ask how you are, cuz you're not important.
So easily forgotten

So easily forgotten
Doesn't matter how you feel or how alone you are
Cuz it's not them...they are now healed
So easily forgotten

So easily forgotten
Jesus never will leave you alone nor will He forsake you
He is the One True Friend who never will forget you.
So easily forgotten...

Been a tough couple of days...feeling so hopeless...but knowing I can't blame myself nor can I change what is...the enemy on the other hand wants me to believe I am guilty....but despite how hard it is to watch...I know the Truth...God will somehow have the glory...just gotta keep the Faith and know that He is moving.

Thank God for a couple who cared enough to ask and listen...they have helped me see the Truth as well today...and that is progress...being able to see the Truth and not looking at the lies...

Today was somewhat a bit better...never know with each passing day...

Been so peaceful at the Oasis this past week...been very pleasant...sheep being fed...sheep are happy...as one of those who are called...I go into chat or counseling blogs and place aside my cares for those of others....this journal here is my sanctuary...my sounding board...but when I step out of here..I am called to feed the sheep...the sheep...the sheep....

Sometimes I do look at others who say they too are called to feed the sheep...and I wonder if you are called...then why are you being lazy and wallowing in self instead of feeding the sheep? This happens at my church and at the Oasis....as a friend shared with me...if you are learning and not feeding...that is one thing...but if you KNOW...and are not feeding...then best figure out why...because God will ask...you can count on it.

Am I a pew sitter...or am I a worker for Jesus...I hope my planted seeds bare fruit that speaks for Him always....I would never be happy as a pew sitter.

I Will Work til Jesus Comes...a great song...We'll Work til Jesus Comes :)

I'm happy today :)

I awoke this morning with a heavy mind...worried about many tiny things...caught myself and said why are you worrying over nothing....made a decision to call someone when I got to work to discuss all the little things...and amazingly they came over to my office and we planned ways to work all the little things out...and all those things I awoke worried about are now gone. :) God is good.

I'm carrying a burden today for a soul here at the Oasis. They've been on my heart all night last night and this morning. I pray that God will start to move in their life...to show them that love, hope and joy can be their's through Him.

I'm so very thankful for life. I always have Jesus...and with Him I am complete...and my happiness comes from contentment in Him. :)

Joy abounds and overflows. Today the sun is shining.

Had a stumble in my walk with the Lord yesterday...but thank God for Jesus who died so I can repent when I stumble and keep moving forward. Sometimes sin just sneaks upon you...and before you realize takes hold...I think that sometimes I'm most vulnerable when things are good...as I forget to watch out for those sneak attacks blah! But I am forgiven and loved!

So today is filled with lots of activity at work and 4 meetings which require my attendance this afternoon...which are normally boring...but with the Holy Spirit along..you never know what you might get :) Should be entertaining...cuz I love watching Him move in subtle ways.

Time for lunch. :)

TGIF...but not really for me this week...as I won't get a day off work til next weekend...one I am really looking forward to after today.

But...with that said...God is good! I was spending time with Him this morning on my way to work...listening to Christian music and thanking Him for using me in His service...allowing me to reach out to the hurting. I was reading in my Bible this morning about Jesus seeing the child that had died and the mother who was weeping for her child and Jesus brought the child back to life because it says Jesus had COMPASSION on her and said "Do Not Weep" This made me think about how I often feel towards those who are hurting...I just so wish the hurt would go away..or that I could take their hurt away...but I can't...only Jesus can...just as He did for this woman...He can do for others...and He only needs me to show these hurting souls the direction to find Him...in order for Him to take away their pain. I'm thankful He finds me of use in His ministry.

Life is good...God is great...and I am happy!

I just love to watch God uses others to reach souls. I often try to reach out to all those that I see hurting...but I also realize not all souls I reach for are meant for God to reach through me...and when I see Him using another to reach these souls...I take a small step back as not to hinder my brother and sister in Christ who these souls are connecting with. It truly doesn't matter who reaches which souls for God...but that they are reached...and watching God use my brothers and sisters is a blessing to me. It's great to see many parts of His body...reaching from all directions...all with One common bond...Jesus and the salvation only He offers.
