Day 7 Controlling Your Thoughts

Postby learningtoagape » Sat Dec 12, 2009 11:30 am

This was a good study. I often entertain thoughts of worthlessness. Even though the Holy Spirit tells me not too. So I am going to be more aware of my thoughts. I really like the idea of writing them down indentifying where they came in and getting rid of them. I know that this part of it will be a long process. learning everyday. Thanks everyone :D

Just like learning anything new at first it is difficult.
With time and training it gets easier.

:)

God bless and keep you.

Did someone say "controlling you thoughts" ?

This is one of the hard-er "practices" I myself often fail to "perfect" , but then again , by the time I get to do everything in perfection I wouldn't be here on this planet any longer , would I ? Sooo , no hurry there !!

Here's what I use(d) for exercise , Bird begets bird , cat begets cat , fish begets ... Darwin ? Noh , just kidding !!

Well , you get the idea , if it (the thought) doesn't sound like its begotten by the Spirit , it's most likely begotten by me , so scratch that and ask WWJD ?

Thoughts...those little things that roll around in your head either causing you to be emotional or causing you to be joyful and worry free...it's our choice to think what things we want to think...so thinking on the good things is what will bring us happiness regardless of what we are doing or what trial we are facing. I've found that when we allow our thoughts to be controlling over our actions in a negative way it causes us to loose site of God. So keep your thoughts focused on Him and you will notice the ride of life will be a smoother and easier one.

Your doing so well with the steps sis.

Keep going.

luv ya

Nice going!

I've learned through this program, to analyze each thought. You gotta remember to ask yourself, "Is this a thought from God, or Satan?" based on your answer, you should be able to determine quickly whether or not that thought is true or false. Keep up the work! It's a lifelong battle, but you can succeed. I'll be praying for you.

learningtoagape...yes this part possibly will be a long process and one that you might want to renew continually throughout your lifetime. Even as we heal, we often see that these thoughts try to resurface. Especially if we are going through a trying time...and the enemy knows this...it's like he will do everything he can to get us to think that we aren't worthy. The truth is though...we are made worthy through the blood of Jesus...and noone can take that from us...Yes we have to accept it and this is where we have to learn to control our thoughts. One step at a time.

luv ya sis
