Oftentimes we make assumptions as to what someone else needs healing of -- maybe even from what they, themselves, have stated and/or believe; however, the Truth of the matter may be different. However, since we don't see the full picture, we can end up confusing a situation, or even praying for one thing, when we could or should be praying for another.

When I was a teen in the late 60's and early 70s, I had the privilege of going to a Harlem Globetrotters game. It was so much fun to watch them. A particular member of the famous Harlem Globetrotters team was Meadowlark Lemon -- what a gifted and hilarious man he was, and still is, even though he has long since hung up his basketball shoes.

Meadowlark Lemon had some routines/skits that the crowd would wait to see with great anticipation. One such routine was he would feign an injury -- usually after missing a shot resulting in the opposing team scoring points. Meadowlark would limp and howl with pain. His teammates would rally round him, coddling him and assisting in getting him to the bench -- all while he howled in pain, limping all the way. Minutes would pass with everyone crowding around, focusing and ministering to his leg injury, with him crying in pain, then he would finally cry out..."It's my arm!!!" To which the crowd would break out in uproarious laughter and his teammates would pretend to be annoyed with him -- then the game would continue.

It was all in good fun. There is also, however, a good lesson in it.

Sometimes in our desire to assist others, we make erroneous assumptions. Not all stumbling blocks which cause a person to limp and become halt in their life are due to the enemy -- or even due to a particular injury as seen by the naked eye. Oftentimes we, as the observers, see one thing with our eyes, but what is unseen reveals another story. On occasion, The Lord will use an injury, illness or uncomfortable situation in a person's life to bring them to their knees, where they then can receive blessed healing and/or revelation. Jesus, Himself, is a blessed Stumblingstone, and He is The Healer. He knows what ails a soul. It does a body, and a soul, good to seek The Truth. The Truth, Jesus, will set them free.

Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.


Seek The Lord in all things.

God's will be done.

Kinda like the refining fire, your post reminds me of. When we ask Jesus into our hearts, there are some things He wants to remove from our lives. As He is doing so, we feel little or maybe even large pieces of our flesh (these can be stumbling blocks) being cut out of our normal lives till eventually, we look like Him. This is often painful, but only to our flesh, not to our spirits. Reading and studying His word, and praying, if we are willing to let Him transform our ways of thinking, our hearts follow.

I pray for each one of you..not that you will have an easy time, but that you will seek His will, even if it means going through the fire to become who Christ already knows you are....how He sees you. His strength and Grace will carry you through. The victory is already His, in you, if will choose to believeand keep walking and searching His ways.

Where have I been? ... hmmmm you don't know how much of a loaded question that is ...

I've been hiding out in a "pit" .... .... not really.

God took hubby and me through some tremendous valley(s) ... in a nutshell ... God separated us out from everyone and everything ... to knit us back together as a believing couple; you know Darrell just came to the Lord 2 years ago ... and there was some things that the Lord wanted us to work on (through) ... and the fantastic news is that we are coming out of it now ... we are relating to each other in a much deeper, more mature level; and, Darrell just got hired at this fantastic company in Saskatchewan (this very day! like 4 hours ago!); which means "another" move ... "good-grief"
