Please Pray for my wife

Postby cl0udstr1fe » Fri Oct 23, 2009 6:14 pm

Hello Bretheren,

My wife recently came to Christ, and we are walking together with him. Last night she told me that she has been fighting a brooding depression for ten years and feels like she is condemned to hell. She stated that she feels like a terrible mother, and wife (which is not true). She also stated that she is on the verge of suicide. We are uninsured and for all intensive purposes, poverse. Bretheren, if you would be so kind, please join me in praying that the lord will touch her heart and give her comfort and joy again, and that we may find a way to get her the counseling or medication that she needs.

Thanks in advance!

Your brother,
Cloud

Hello Bretheren,

Thank you so much for your prayers. I hope that they are helping. I am not seeing immediate results, but as we all know, God will work in his own time. My wife has been really depressed about our financial situation, and when I tell her to have faith and trust that God will see us through, she becomes discouraged, and said that my faith was gonna land us in the streets, and she refuses to be in the streets with our kids. I than kinda let it go and let her steam because I didn't know what else to tell her and encouraging her with God seemed to turn her away from him, instead of providing comfort. All I can think of to do at this point is keep praying.

Thanks again,

Cloud

P.S. I am employed and working full-time to support my family, although we are poor, there is no reason my children will have to live in the streets. My wife is unemployed and this may be contributing to her depression.

Praying for you both during this time. Prayer is the most powerful thing anyone of us can do in this world. There's nothing more greater talking and praying to God. Hopefully this help encourage you some.

More Prayer.....More Power
Less Prayer.....Less Power
No Prayer......No Power!

Keep praying with all your heart, mind and soul and know God already has a plan in motion but its in His time for He knows.

Lord Bless :)

My wife went thru something similar.

After attending a new church a half mile from home,
my wife was feeling happy about the church.
The more she went the more she began to focus on her
preceived sins. While in church service, she felt good.
On other days of week she felt not worthy of His love and forgiveness.
Depression was on and off like a faucet.
It all came to a head one Sunday morning. Our son wanted Dad all
morning long. Then at church he wanted Dad and *not* Mom to go
to the class room with him. My wife, felt so rejected! She felt broken
hearted and beaten down. She had no place to go but into the church
where service was about to begin. She felt as though everything she
had worked for had finally slipped away. No more love from the two
who should love her the most. - (???)

Thats when IT happened!
She broke down and went to the alter call.
The elder women of the church came to her and prayed with her.
That day she received the Holy Spirit. (That part will have to be *her* testimony)

But that wasn't the end of IT. For the elder women of our church are
wise. They rallied to support her in her new life. Like a new born
infant neededing auntie and grama to help out, they came to offer
physical support and spiritual support. God showed her that her
expectations were in the wrong place. Her happiness, her identity,
her "cents" of worth, were not derived from her son and husband,
but by Him and Him alone.

There were times when my wife, like a new born infant, had to cry
for her feeding and changing. The elder women were there with womanhood based programs. My wife attended one. Liked it, tried another, and soon was hooked. (Much like many of us get hooked here at the Oasis) Now she is much more positive, there is less stress in the house hold. She is happier now, has a positive outlook, is more condident, and speaks clearly, and get this, she is quoting the bible without realizing it! She didn't believe me when I told her. I had to show her where in the bible it was written that which she had said. She was stunned at first, then chuckeled, then started to cry happy tears.
(Some will disagree, but i think that is what is ment by "speaking in tongue.")

She is now sharing with me the lessons she is learning, thus blessing me too. I don't know if you have such support from the elder women of your church, but here at Oasis, there is support. Many womens group activity here. Several studies to help increase the spiritual walk.
If she doesn't want to come here, see if there is bible study at the church. Make it so that she has the time to attend. Make it happen for her. She needs that constant reminder. We get that here, We just log on anythime of the day or night. Its here. We get that support. She needs the same thing, either here or elsewhere. When we are hungry and don't have to eat, we starve to death. She needs to be fed. She needs to learn *He* is the one who provides her happiness, the food for her soul, the strength to press on. Its all Him. Abba.

I will pray for her and for all your house.
