Oct 15 - updates

Postby Sylvia » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:45 am

I am still recovering from surgery. I do not know yet when the treatment starts. Right now I am in pain from where the drainage tube comes out.
I am going to have it checked tomorrow.
I have my up's and down's when it comes to thinking about my hubby.
But I know its going to take time for God to teach me how to deal with it.
It doesn't go away. The missing him part. But I am slowly taking baby steps in God directing me in dealing with the hurt.
It will be 2 months that he has been gone on the 25th.
So the wound of hurt is still fresh.
Got to run

We stand with you, Sylvia, in praise and prayer.

It is, He, who over came the world.
It is His kingdom that dwells in you.
Through His spirit you are comforted.
He made your spirit strong, Like a wild bull,
with rich oil poured over you.
We shall focus on the good things,
things that are true, pure, lovely,
gracious and praise worthy.
Praise our Lord!
Rejoice in the Lord always.
With all prayer and supplication,
we pray with you at every opportunity,
in the Holy Spirit. I say it again,
Sylvia, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice in
our Lord....
Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!

Sylvia,

I know about the pain with the drainage tubes (I had two - surgery last Dec.) When they come out, things will get better. No one really understands what this type of surgery pain is unless they have it.

Nevertheless, all prayers are with you.

Mine, too *Pray* that you may be able to get through this, and to feel God's presence in a tangible way. It's hard having to go through this "alone" and it's been such a short time. But God is good, and He knows what you're going through. Trust, sister. And may all be well with you, in Jesus Name. (I know it will take time.)

Thank you all for the prayers.
I still don't know what treatment i will be having.
There has been a problem with the drain hose and I have had a fever.
The fever is gone now but they were concerned it was infected.
It wasn't. But not to gross everyone out I will just say the stuff that wanted to drain out got built up and wouldn't come out.
I have been in a lot of pain. I see the doctor again on Monday.
Until I can have this hose taken out I will not be seeing the oncologist.
So I have to be patient.
My energy level is down so I have been taking a lot of naps. Plus reading books different people have given me.
Right now I am reading a book by a Christian author Miriam Neff called
"From One Widow to Another." She talks about how there are 103 references to "widows" in the Bible. Which shows how much God loves us.
One of my favorite Bible stories has always been about "Naomi and Ruth"
Ruth is a good example of how to continue on after you experience loss.
God will lead us just like He did Ruth and Naomi.
I will keep in touch.
Love You all

If I'm not mistaken this weekend marks 2 months since your husbands departure of this world.

Just know you are in my prayers. God loves you and so do I.

Yes it will be two months tomorrow. It is also my birthday tomorrow. Gary's is the 11th of November. Then I have Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I am not celebrating my birthday this year. My 79 year old Mother-in-law and I are going out to eat. She lost her son, I lost my hubby.
But God has been so good to me. I have peace that I didn't have for the first few weeks. I miss him so much. I still miss him but am slowly learning how to deal with it. One thing is when I miss him I immediately stop and pray and tell Jesus all about it. He understands. Learning to do this and not wallow in misery is a big step for me as I battle depression. But even though depression has hit me it didn't stay. (Thank you Jesus)
Isaiah 54:5 says " Your maker is your husband, the Lord God almighty is His name-the Holy one of Israel is your Redeemer. He is called the God of all the earth."
I know I have shared this verse before since Gary died. But it goes along with what I said about talking to my Maker about everything. Just like I used to do with my hubby.
Thank you all for the Prayers

Amen.

Sylvia your strength is so encouraging.
You may not feel strong. I sense the God who is in you and carring you through, that has given you strength to carry on.
I find comfort myself in watching you carry on.
I smile at knowing my sister is with our daddy and our daddy with her.
Ever loving, ever comforting, ever holding you, dear friend.
You continue in my prayers.
I'm here for you during those tricky times.
God loves you and so do I. He is pleased in your faithfulness.

Hello Prayer Warriors *Pray*

We got an email from Sylvia today with an update. Here it is:

I hope you get this. I messed up my computer and my son-in-law is coming this weekend to fix it.
If you can, let people know that I go to the onocologist on the 9th to find out what treatment I will be having.
I can get into email but not the internet.
