Sept 9 - Praising God when you don't want to

Postby Sylvia » Wed Sep 09, 2009 6:34 am

"I will praise the Lord who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand. I will not be shaken." (Psalms 16:8)

I love the Psalms. I read it a lot. David always had problems. People after him to kill him. But if you notice as you read the Psalms he always puts in the chapter his praises to God.

I awoke this morning with the feeling of sadness again. The last thing on my mind was praising the Lord. But that is what God told me to do.
I stood there in my bedroom and starting praising God. Over and over again.
You know what happened? I was filled with joy!
Now I wanted to praise the Lord. I saw results. It should come automatic but we don't always do it. We want to wallow in or misery.
Another thing is I forced myself to get out of the house. Went grocery shopping (Gary and I always did it together just because we like to be together) I went and picked out a stone for the grave.
I came home feeling great.
Then I got the phone call stating my surgery for the breast cancer is October 6th. But the joy still remained.
So what I have learned is praise the Lord when that is the last thing you want to do.
(Deuteronomy 31:6)
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you."
Thank you Lord.
We are a work in progress to be finished when we see Jesus face to face.
Please pray for my son. He has not gone back to heroin but since his Dad's death he is drinking more.
Thank you for your prayers.
Love You all

You are quite an inspiration to me.

Thank you so much for allowing the Lord to reveal HIS message to me ... Thru YOU.

I am now fully fueled as to continue the mission.

Consider this friend ...

A man was blinded from birth and they asked Jesus ... Why.

Jesus said ... Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

How many will be saved because of our trials and tribulations that we endure?

How many will be saved because of yours?

How many will come up to you in Heaven and hug you tight and whisper "thank you" to you for enduring these trials and carrying on cuz THEY will benefit from it?

Do the Spiritual Math.

This is not about us.

This is about HIM, His cause and His LOVE for us.

God is in control.

The promise is ahead ...

You keep fighting that good fight of FAITH sister.

Luv ya so much
Jesus is coming ... Get your soul prepared.

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. Thank you for your words that I know God is speaking through you.
Putting this out on "Overcoming the World" each day blesses me and I am thankful that if even one is blessed by it then God is using it for good.
God bless you
