God is love.
__1 John 4:8

After the US entered World War 2 in 1941, Estelle tried to talk her boyfriend Sidney out of joining the Army. But he enlisted and began his training in April of the following year. For the next 3 years he wrote her love letters--525 in all. Then in March 1945, she learned that her beloved fiancee had been killed in combat.
Although Estelle did eventually marry, the memories of her first love lived in her heart. To honor that love, she published a book of Sidney's war-time correspondence more than 60 years later.
Like those letters, the Lord has left us with reminders of His love--the Scriptures. He says: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you" (Jer. 31:3).
"As the Father loved Me, I also have love you; abide in My love" (John 15:9).
The Bible also tells us that "Christ... loved the church and gave Himself for her" (Eph. 5:25).
"[Jesus] gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us" (Titus 2:14).
"God is love" (1 John 4:8).
Read God's Word often and be reminded that Jesus loves you and died for you. __Anne Cetas

*************Today's Bible Reading __ John 19:1-7, 16-18**********
1 So then Pilate took Jesus
and scourged Him. 2 and
the soldiers twisted a crown
of thorns and put it on His
head, and they put on Him
a purple robe. 3 Then they
said, "Hail, King of the
Jews!" And they struck Him
with their hands.
4 Plate then went out
again, and said to them,
"Behold, I am bringing Him
out to you, that you may
know that I find no fault in
Him." 5 Then Jesus came
out, wearing the crown of
thorns and the purple robe.
And Pilate aid to them,
"Behold the Man!"
6 Therefore, when the
chief priests and officers
saw Him, they cried out,
saying, "Crucify Him,
crucify Him!"
Pilate said to them, "You
take Him and crucify Him,
for I find no fault in Him."
7 "We have a law, and
according to our law He
ought to die, because He
made Himself the son of
God."...
16 Then he delivered Him
to them to be crucified. So
they took Jesus and led Him
away.
17 And He, bearing His
cross, went out to a place
called the place of a Skull,
which is called in Hebrew,
Golgotha, 18 where they
crucified Him, and two
others with Him, one on
either side, and Jesus in the center.

Although the Jewish punishment for blasphemy (v.7) was death by
stoning (Lev. 24:16), Jesus was put to death by crucifixion on the
false charge of political treason (Luke 23:13-14; John 19:6-7, 16).
This fulfilled Christ's prophecy of His crucifixion (Matt. 20:18-19;
26:2; John 12:32-33; 18:32). __SIM KAY TEE
