Trust? ME?

Postby Tam » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:57 pm

Hey all. I am new here as of today. I am starting the 14 day challenge for freedom. I have issues with TRUST.....I keep everyone at arms width. I really won't to let God closer and family and friends so I am going to venture through this program and I am not quitting until I have arrived. I have all the head knowledge that I need to do this , it is just the 12 inches between my head and my heart where the problem is. I know that God loves me and that He has a purpose for me but I really don't trust that God loves me enough to love me and to set me free from all my issues. He will do it for someone else but not for me. I would appreciate all the prayer that I can get as I take this journey of no return. I choose to let God close and I choose to not give up. Just doing it is what I don't know how to do. But here goes..............Thanks for your prayers. Tam

Welcome to Christianity Oasis Tam. So nice to have you join us all here. I am pleased to hear you are doing the counseling steps, they are wonderful, uplifting and helpful. If you have any questions or would like a friend to talk to, just ask. Many wonderful friends to be made here.
I don't trust easily myself. Seems it is something that many struggle with that I have met here. So please don't feel alone. Many of us have been there. Hope to get a chance to meet you some time, possibly in the chat room, or you can leave messages on here.
Have a blessed day in the Lord.

Sincerely,

Breezy

Hi Tam and welcome to Oasis. Sis, you are so not alone in this. Trust is a major issue we all have or have had. We live in a world, and learn to depend on a world filled with people who are searching for someone to trust...or who have given up on it all together. And that enemy loves to tell us that our Lord doesnt love us enough to forgive what we have done, or care enough to see whats really in our hearts. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, its just the opposite with His love. His love is Agape love. Its unconditional. I dont know anyone who would has never sinned and yet loves me enough to die for me, other than Jesus. This is where the truth is. Im so glad you are here and are taking these steps. You arent here by accident. I pray your heart will receive His truth as you go through these steps..and know that you are in many many prayers. We are with ya in this. His will be done in your life and may His love fill you to overflowing.

in Jesus,
momo *Pray*

Hey Tam, welcome to the Oasis. We are so glad you are here. So, you've got a bit of a distance between you and the Lord huh? Well I can say I've been there at one time in my life as well. But, what I want you to know is there is Hope in Jesus sis, and He really wants to help close that distance and bring you closer. Taking this step today to do the counseling program, means you are headed in the right direction. Keep reaching for Jesus, as He is reaching back, and He has great things in store for you.

I will be praying for you sis.

Welcome again, and hope to get to chat with you in the chatroom sometime.

Take care and God Bless

Hi sis :) was sooo nice to meet u tonite :)

Trust is indeed somethin thats hard to do, especially when we have been hurt by others. Makes us build up those defences so tall and strong, to protect ourselves.

For me, i think it was important to realize that God is not man. That man is indeed flawed, and will make mistakes. But God is perfect and in Him I could find what I couldnt in any human.

As you walk this path, and your relationship with the Lord grows as you learn and understand more about Him and His purpose for you, so will your faith and your ability to trust in Him. As you shared, knowing ABOUT God and actually knowing God are two diff things :) So seek that personal relationship too.

And as God has to be our foundation in whatever we do before anythin else falls into place, when we are able to fully trust in Him, He will show us how to begin to trust in others again.

Keep goin sister Tam :)
