Outlawing Pocket Knives
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a proposed rule change that directly targets the importation of "assisted opening" folding knives. The proposed rule could affect all knives that can be opened with one hand, because it also includes changes in the interpretation of "gravity and inertia" opening knives in a way that could outlaw all knives that can be opened with a single hand. This means the new regulation could ban the importation of most of the pocketknives that are now in popular use.
And it could have a far greater impact. The American Knife and Tool Institute and Knife Rights, Inc. have both reviewed the proposed new regulations and are very concerned that the impact will be far greater than just a ban on the importation of assisted opening knives. If the new regulations also affect the broader category of single-handed opening knives, it could make millions of knives illegal for import. More importantly, many local jurisdictions and some states depend on the definitions used by the CBP. These changes could make hundreds of millions of knives now in regular use, illegal. And, of course, millions of hunters use and rely on their knives and would be adversely affected by this proposed regulation.
Sounds like big brother going after more than guns now. If this passes. I'm illegal as all get out. 90% of the knives I own fall under these guidlines. First guns, now knives. What's next?

WELLLLLLLL......first off it has not happened yet...just like no one has lost their guns yet either. Just more things to worry about ahead of time.
Write your congressman, your senator, your state representatives. Better yet ...give it over to the Lord.
All of these are items of destruction think about it. I am not a supporter of taking away ALL guns, just the ones that have bullets that pierce a bullet proof vest or a car door where a police man might be standing. I am not against pocket knives, all the men I know carry one of some style or other. Most men I know hunt. But as with anything it is hard to define a law that encompasses so many definitions of a "knife" as you have just said.
Tell ya what try not to worry...go through the process of telling your elected government officials what you think, let your voice be heard.... then IF IF IF... they pass the law then dig a hole and bury the knives till you need one.
Tell you the truth I am more concerned about the abuse laws that are not enforced, how women and children are lacking correct representation and are still being abused.. and abusers not being accountable for what they do. Now that is a can of messy worms and something to get up in arms about.
