Emotion Management--Trust

Postby kimberly » Wed Sep 05, 2007 6:40 pm

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Godly friends who care about our problems, and help us to overcome through the Holy Spirit operating in them.We thank You that we may come boldly to the throne of grace anytime we need help.Thank You Holy Spirit, we hear Your voice, and You lead us to those we can trust. In Jesus Name, amen.

.

We all have been in times and situations that made our emotions uncontrolled. Other people here at the Oasis may have solutions or words from God that can help you. Open your hearts and receive what God wants to do for you.

Read the questions below and be honest with yourself:

1.) When you struggle with emotions, what emotion is the most difficult to overcome and, why?

2.) Do you struggle on a daily basis? Weekly? How often?

3.) What seems to cause these emotions to surface?

4.) Do people in your life sometimes cause your emotions to go haywire?

5.) Do you think God cares about your emotions? Why or why not?

6.) Do you believe God has an answer for you, that will help you control your emotions?

7.) Finally, what do you do when these emotions surface?

There seems to be a lot of people having trust issues with others. Along with that is bitterness, anger and depression. It is completely understandable, that when we are wronged, we hurt. What does God say about trusting others?

Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.{Proverbs 29:25}

Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. {Proverbs 30:5}

It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in princes. {Proverbs 118:8,9}

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.{Psalm 5:11}

.....and there are so many more scriptures that ALL talk about trust----trust in God, not man. We have to learn to trust Him completely, and that can be a scary thing, if you've never really got in your spirit how God CAN be trusted.

How do you understand how trustworthy God is? You search His Word, find 'trust' scriptures, read them over and over. Don't judge God by what man has done to you. It wasn't God. People choose how to act, and some are cruel.

But He is our shield from those who would hurt you. He is our protection from those who would take from us, and abandon us. Our trust is not put in others, it is in God, for He will guide us to those who will love and support us. He will remove those who would use us.

It is our job to choose to believe Him. Putting our full trust in God is important if you want Him to work in your life. Doubt and disbelief stand in the way. If you haven't trust, your faith is wavering. Nothing will work. It is only when we decide to totally trust Him, that He can accomplish His great plan for our lives.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.{ Proverbs 3:5-8}

All we have to do---is what God tells us in His Word. AMEN.

I love the Proverbs you quoted, particularly 118: 8,9... I find to put my FULL trust in Him FIRST helps me with my trust and confidence issues with others... this seems to help heal the depression as well :)

I know others felt the Spirit thru this message as well! *angelbounce*
