Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum will help us to learn how to use Preventative Maintenance when it comes to our emotions. Renewing our minds daily in Christ helps us to control our emotions and lead a more productive life in Christ instead of being swept away in the whirlwind of emotions this life can throw at us daily.

Wait....

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

All of us wait for something. We wait for a spouse, we wait for our kids to grow up, we wait for life to get better, we wait for answers to prayer.

I want to discuss "waiting on God". It's a different kind of waiting, and relieves the stress and frustration that natural waiting brings on. Waiting on God is a spiritual training. If we'll train ourselves to "wait" in this way, it makes life's trial periods more peaceful.

What exactly is waiting on God?
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD;And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

It involves patience, and it takes asking God to be involved with us.

Psalm 52:9
I will praise You forever,Because You have done it;And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.

It takes belief that God can solve our life problems. It takes commitment to Him.

Psalm 33:20
Our soul waits for the LORD;He is our help and our shield.

It takes faith that He is our helper and protector.

Psalm 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,And in His word I do hope.

It takes knowing that our hope should be in His Word, not in what we see or hear from others.

Proverbs 20:22
Do not say, I will recompense evil
"My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades." (Timbuk 3)
1 Peter 1:3-5
