Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. One of the greatest gifts that our Father gave to Christians is ... Fellow Christians. James 5:16 ... Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. I dont know what part of CAL. you're at, but where I was at there was an AA meeting every hour on the hour 7 days a week, now you'll probably say something like "I'm not AA , I'm NA" or what not, but listen, a drug is a drug is a drug, and 12stp. is a 12stp. is a 12 step, did anyone mention steps by any chance??

If rides are an issue, AA, NA,CA,Sa and all the other A's have Hotlines they'll all be more than glad to help out.

Let me let u in on a secret Roberta, the loopholes are not here !

Oh, I know that I could get rides. In fact (I can't remember if I mentioned it here or on another site) I have a disability bus pass (just got it in the mail yesterday) that allows me to ride the bus for free 10-2 M-F and for a reduced fare at other times.

The reason that I mentioned Celebrate Recovery is because it's a Christian group. There is only one in my area and it's only accessable via a vehicle.

Glad to hear that Roberta , the whole Idea is that U get involved in your own recovery, both mlg & myself mentioned 14 day, 14 step prog. OASIS offers, to which the only ride you'll need to get to is a pair of WINGS, I myself just "completed" a couple days ago , and this is after 10 yrs of AA,

All of the 12 steps in a nutshell spells - TRUST GOD-CLEAN HOUSE- HELP ANOTHER.

Glad 2 C U @ the receptive part of town .

I'm about an hour away from San Francisco. I'm in the East Bay Area. What part were you in?

If I get to it.

Right now I am so terrified. I don't know if it's from the panic disorder, withdrawls, fear of the unknown or all of the above.

Sis I've shared these verses with several today. Don't worry. God has this.

II Corinthians:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

II Corinthians:8-9
8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

II Corinthians 8:16
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

He will carry you through. Just try sis, it's at least a start.

luv ya

Thank you.

I'm being such a whimp right now. I'm in tears right now because I can't handle this. I've tried the work. I can't get past step 5. I've been there forever!

If I truly posted my feelings right now, I'd probably be asked to leave forever for profanity. When I'm in this frame of mind, articulation is not my strong point.

I didn't go. I let the panic win.

So how do I emphasize the importance of this to myself and yet keep from beating myself up over it?

Hi Roberta its me again
I read you mentioning step 5 ,if it is the same 5 I know it reads
"we admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs" In that order, God 1st, ouselves 2nd then 2 another,
and look carefully-if U will- to what is it we're admitting, its the NATURE of our wrongs, not our wrong doings or wrongs that we continiously beat ourselves up with.

If God is with me, who could stand against me, or better yet he who has not sinned , let him cast the first stone .

There's absolutely nothing that you have done that one of us ,at least me havn't done before, the idea is to find a means of overcoming it not to "deal" with it. How do U "deal" with a hot coal ?

At the top of the page in forum topics is a COOL anouncement click on that see what happens.
