Researchers from Virginia Tech University, along with police administrators, recently determined that distracted drivers put others in more danger than aggressive drivers. Drivers who eat, discipline children in the backseat, or talk on the phone are the most hazardous.
When residents in Grand Rapids, Michigan, were asked about the bad habits of drivers that made the highways unsafe, most felt that others caused more problems than they themselves. One woman said that she talked on her cell phone a little, but at least she didn't dial the phone numbers while on the road. She concluded her comments by stating that others "aren't following the rules of the road ...... They put us all at risk."
It's our nature to point a finger at others. The apostle Paul talked about fellow teachers who avoided looking at their own behavior and instead attacked him (2 Cor. 10:12-18). He wrote, "They, measuring themselves by themselves.... are not wise" (v.12).
When we don't look at our own actions but instead compare ourselves with others, we often come out looking good. But, as Paul said, it's the Lord's commendation that counts, not our own approval of ourselves (v.18). __ Anne Cetas

If you must compare yourself with someone,
compare yourself with Christ.
*************Today Bible Reading __ 2 Corinthians 10:12-18********
12 For we dare not class
ourselves or compare
ourselves with those who
commend themselves. But
they, measuring themselves
by themselves, and
comparing themselves, are not
wise. 13 We, however, will
not boast beyond measure,
but within the limits of the
sphere which God
appointed us__a sphere
which especially includes
you. 14 For we are not
overextending ourselves (as
though our authority did not
extend to you). for it was to
you that we came with the
gospel of christ, 5 not
boasting of things beyond
measure, that is, in other
men's labors, but having
hope, that as your faith is
increased, we shall be
greatly enlarged by you in
our sphere, 16 to preach the
gospel in the regions
beyond you, and not to
boast in another man's
sphere of accomplishment.
17 But "he who glories, let
him glory in the LORD."
18 For not he who
commends himself is
approved, but whom the
Lord commends.

The letter of 2 Corinthians is Paul's attempt to speak to the believers
of Corinth on a variety of issues. One of these issues deals with the
problem of spiritual pride. In verse 17 he shares his own desire to
glory in Christ, not in his own personal achievements. He wants
them to understand that the approval of Christ is far more important
than the approval of people or of self (v.18). __ Bill Crowder
