Allowing the abuse to continue
Whether you were hurt as a child or in your adult years, you may have at some point thought that maybe you were responsible for what happened to you.
This is in no way true, as we are not responsible for what others do.
But are we in some way responsible for allowing it to continue?
The more we dwell on the past, the more we replay the incidents over and over in our heads, the more we put off forgiveness, are we in fact playing a part in allowing those who hurt us to continue to do so?
Just as they are responsible for their actions, we are responsible for our actions and re-actions.
Whether there may have been emotional, mental, or physical abuse... the cycle will continue as long as we keep it alive in our minds and hearts.
If you have been hurt in some way, do not allow your abuser to have power and control over your life now. Break the cycle by refusing to keep the past alive. Hand it over to Jesus and watch Him heal your heart, instead of hoping that you can find a way to do it yourself.
All things are possible thru Christ who gives us strength.

Amen to dat.
My resolution for today, next month, and years to come is to be further from the world and closer to the Word.
