Christmas Floetry Poem

Postby mlg » Tue Dec 25, 2007 12:14 am

Hey everyone, this is the poem that our Oasis members who attended the Christmas Poetry Contest Program composed together. Thank you everyone who helped write this beautiful poem. Merry Christmas Oasis poets.

The birth of a child, named Jesus,
Gives us the Season called Christmas.
A Season and a child for all mankind.
So when our time comes we wouldn't be left behind.

He came to save us from sin.
King Herod couldn't win.
But God and His boundless love would be the victors for eternity.
This is why we celebrate Christmas, wouldn't you agree?

A baby, that became a sacrificial lamb.
The one that loves me for who I am.
Oh God we bow at your feet in thankfulness for your great gift of your only Son
Through Him our new life has begun

A life that will be for eternity
A life that is given for you and me.
A life that began in a manger on a cold winter's night
Shepherd's were shaking on the hillside with fright

A life that lived an everyday life, a life that saved us from strife.
but fright would some turn into peace and awesome joy
but delivered us from fear & strife
because of the birth of a dear little boy

We can sing songs of praise and joy
Forever and ever on Christmas day for the birthday of a precious baby boy
It's because of Him I love this time of year, it's about Jesus not just the toys.
and some day soon we will be in heaven and each day will be as Christmas
for in His heart he holds us near a day of rejoicing and praising our King for eternity

Beautiful!!!

Luke 2:10-14

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (12) And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. (13) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, (14) Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
