Modelbuilder's Journal Day 8

Postby modelbuilder » Mon Jan 05, 2015 10:47 pm

When I was growing up every once in a while I would hear some pastor speak on the joy of the Lord, this was spoken about with a long face, something of a frown and standing still as a mummy in a museum. I was never a rocket scientist but I knew what was on display was about anything but joy and that I really did not want what they offered. If some of those people ever let a smile on their face their head would have cracked open! I understand now that their state was very sad, back then it was just dumb.
I was reading my daughter's bedtime story and we had stopped to to say nighttime prayers. As we finished I started to say her name and a different word came out, somewhat distantly close to her name, and I just started laughing and she started laughing. Then her brother came in to find out why we were laughing and he started laughing. I could not stop laughing. Both my son and daughter wanted to know what the word meant and when I told them they both went "OOOOHHHH!" My son then went and told his mom and she had a similar reaction. By this time I was laughing again as was my daughter. My beautiful wife poked her head into my daughter's room and was happy to see us all laughing. There is healing in laughter. God's joy is real and He can and does use my verbal mistakes to make my family smile and draw us together. My beautiful wife has had to learn that I do not phrase things like other people.
May His joy, the real joy and not that aforementioned stuff, be your strength and may it wash over you and drench you so that it drips on those around you. Blessings to you all.

PS - Our son is doing well and has an appointment with a Neurologist on Friday, thanks for the prayers for him.
