Broken


Another place, another time
There was reason, there was rhyme
There was music in her life
Days untouched by loss or strife

Circumstance that has no thought
Bring her troubles she's not sought
And leave her drifting helplessly
All about a lonely sea

A sea of change without a shore
Has her crying, "what's life for?
When I can slip beneath life's waves
And sink unnoticed in the haze

Where is passion, where is love
Where's the guidance from above
Who am I, where did I go
Why is it so hard to know

How can life be so cruel
When did I become this fool
Not knowing which path I should take
Or what will ease this lonely ache"

But there's no answer for her tears
And no one close to ease her fears
Without the strength to face the day
She steps into life's drawn out play

Another day devoid of grace
Another heartless day to face
Another hopeless, endless maze
Til finally she stops and prays.....

"Precious Jesus rescue me
Break these bonds and make me free
Give me joy and give me peace
With Your love bring sweet release

Take my sorrow and my wrath
Set my feet upon Your path
Help me stand and help me see
What it is You want for me"

Beautiful words. Wrote similar words myself in a poem many, many years ago. Wish I could put my words down like that again. Use to love to write poetry. A great outlet for me.
