STEPPING STONE THREE

Postby millliewilkes » Thu Jan 23, 2014 12:00 pm

As I sit here and ponder on this lesson, it is hard to believe that after all I’ve done I can
still be forgiven. And if that is not enough but, to also know that after I’ve been forgiven my sins would
be forgotten too! Who does that? God is the only one I’ve ever known to do that and I am grateful to
be reminded of that. I feel a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders!!!

Hi Millie and welcome to Oasis. My sister in Jesus, His love is so different from ours...or what we think is love. His is unconditional. There's no "but" at the end of His I love yous. Think if this...you have a child. Is there anything in the world your child could do that would make you stop loving your child? God hates sin because of what it does to us....the separation it brings between Him and us...the guilt we feel that causes us to run away from Him...the shame that keeps us from seeking Him in prayer...the mistrust we feel in His forgiveness. The thing is, His grace, though not deserved, is freely given..and complete. His love is unlike any earthly love we have known.

Your posts remind me of me in a lot of ways. I too looked for love in all the wrong places....(now I have that song stuck in my head *BigGrin* ) Somewhere deep inside theres a deep need..to be loved, accepted.......we were created to love and be loved by our Father...but, we search high and low for it in people first....and place God and His love on the back burner.....especially when we've been hurt by someone we thought loved us. Forgiveness is essential here....the Holy Spirit will help you to do just that....forgive your husband....and forgive yourself...it all comes in the weed pulling and fact facing according the God's truth....and with His love and grace and decision making youre gonna face. I know without a doubt that as you continue through these steps you will find freedom from the things you are bogged down with...if you continue being honest with yourself and honest with God.

I would encourage you to read Romans 7 and 8. *BigGrin*

This is an awesome place the Lord has led you to....keep your chin up....this is going to be an awesome journey for you...God's blessings to you and please know that He knows your situation and has not left you....and wont leave you...He will use everything in your life for His glory and your good....even the things you see as "bad" right now. His words, His promise. *hug*
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Forgiveness is letting go. And when you let go, you are letting go of things that separate you from God. And what God wants most is for you to be close to him.

Satan tries to convince us that there is more to it than there is - he tries to bring it back and torture us with it.

But letting go, giving it to God, letting go, is just letting go.

And then we can hang out with God.
Hugs,
Dema
Shame and blame are the devil's tools. With God ALL things are possible.
