Wandering in the Wilderness???

Postby realtmg » Wed Jul 17, 2013 9:47 am

We all wander in the wilderness to some extent. No one on earth has "arrived." Anxieties, fears, worries, depression, pain afflict us all.

Just because someone is saved does not mean that bad things no longer happen or that we cease to be confused at times. The difference is Who we choose to carry us when we can no longer carry ourselves.

We all have a choice to make. Are you going to be the Lord of your own life and insist on going it alone? Will you look to other people, places and things to carry you? (This is
idolatry). Or will you look to God?

Now, when things get really bad for me and I start worrying and fretting it is a sure sign that I have taken my focus off of God and am dwelling on me and what is going on in my life. The more I dwell on my problems, the more anxious I become. The more I ruminate on my worries and the "what ifs", the more frantic I am.

People can only think about one thing at a time (fortunately). Our worry and fretting is always about "me" but if we shift our focus to Him our entire being is lifted to a different plane. By centering on God Almighty you remain, with every thought, before His throne of grace! He is your precious Shepherd Who loves you more than you can even imagine.

He is God Almighty......
He is the Great Physician.....
He is the Maker of Heaven and earth....
He created me......
He has a purpose for me......

Do you dwell on yourself, your inabilities, your failures? Or do you focus on Him, what He has done and what He can do and promises to do.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

There is a lot in my life that is hoped for. There are things that have not transpired yet. But I continue to believe.... in faith.... that God will be my provision. He may not provide in the ways you or I imagine or in the time frame your or I want. But ultimately, He does provide.

It is up to you to be patient and to trust in Him, Keep you focus on Him -- not on you and what you want, desire, think should be. Like Paul, learn to be content in all circumstances. They are not great circumstances. You wish a lot of things were different. But You have faith.

2 Corinthians 12:10 NASB
Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Philippians 4:11 NASB
...for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Amen!
