I'm not perfect, only human

Postby jau722 » Mon Dec 03, 2012 4:01 am

Hi :) This is the first time I've ever used something like this. I've been really struggling and I need some real christian advice. I've been very involved in my church since i was 13, I'm 19 now so its been 6 years. My father is a minister so church is basically our lives, we are there most of our time, it became my second home. Recently since I left and went to college (this being my second year) I've really been experiencing a lot of problems. It's different being here on your own with my friends and family no longer around me anymore. I feel alone. Before I left , I was so close to the people at church but now that I'm the only one going to college, they kind of have gotten used to living their lives without me so, I don't really have friends anymore. My best friend is too busy and consumed in her life to even care about mine, even though I've tried hard to rekindle our friendship, its just not working. This is the time I need her the most though, I'm going through , what it seems like the hardest time in my life. I have a boyfriend but he can only do so much... I feel as though I have no one to really help me without getting judged. When I'm at church, because of the position I'm in, I feel like I have to be perfect. I'm no where close to being perfect and I never want to seem like I'm perfect because I'm not. I'm human too. I make mistakes just like anyone else would and they just don't seem to understand that yet so, I feel like I'm holding everything in so no one will judge me but I need help. I'm hoping by coming on here that I can get that help and be understood that I'm human too and that I'm not perfect at all... *help*

Beloved, the reason you are here is so you can have fellowship and your spirits will be lifted. Perhaps find another church, but you can lean on me for awhile. =)

Hi, jau722. Proud of you for seeking help. Remember to seek God and He'll bring you everything you need. God is more powerful than you know. My collegiate years were a bit lonely too. I walked into many churches of all denomonination and visited many Christian clubs. Does your campus have a club called, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship? If so, I highly recommend it! I've listened to the speaker who leads the organization, Doug Schaupp. I'll be praying for you. I can imagine the challenges you may have faced as the minister's daughter. No one is judging you here. You don't need to role-play. We are just focused on human relationship with God. We are all human, serving Christ.

Hello Jau722

God bless you this day, and welcome to Christianity Oasis. :)

I'm glad that you are reading the 14 Day Counseling Study (CCCC, for short). It is such a blessed study, and God often uses the study to get our focus back on Him. Yeah!!! Thank You Jesus \o/ \o/ \o/

We're such a funny creation. It is not unusual for children of pastors to be held to a higher standard -- even by other Christians, but, ohhhhhhh how goofy that is. I mean, we're all children of God The Father, and look how much we all fall short. Seems we humans are in the business of measuring the "shorts" of other people. *BigGrin* But, Praise God, He has a better way. Yeah!!! Thank You Father!!! \o/ \o/ \o/

The title of your post "I'm not perfect, only human" caught my eye. I agree with you, you are not perfect, and no man, except Jesus Christ, is perfect. But, as a child of God, you are more than "only human". As a child of God, a Born Again Christian, you have the indwelling of The Holy Spirit, and He comes with power. Wooooooohooooooo!!! You, Jau722, have direct access to The Lord and His power from on High!!! But, we do forget, sometimes, and we default to our carnal side, more than we don't. :( But, never, never, never forget that you are a child of The Living God. Hallelujah!!!

I want to share a scripture verse, but I want you to focus mostly on the last 4 words:

I Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

In some versions, it reads "...and walk as mere men?"

We so easily forget that we've been separated out by The Lord. *Doh* But, Praise God, He doesn't leave us to our own devices, but He gives us His Word and The Holy Spirit to guide us, and He gives us one another to grow with. Awwwwwww, God is so very Good!!!

Jau722, you have been purged from your old sins.

I Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

We do all so easily forget that we are a new creation in Christ. It must be da fault of the carnal default. *BigGrin*

It is so wonderful that The Lord gives us one another so we can remind one another, as I am going to remind you, Jau722 ...Jesus Christ died for you, and you are a child of God and He will never leave nor forsake you. You are forgiven and have the blood covering of Christ Jesus, and you are no longer "only human", but have the power of God living within you. Hallelujah!!!

I am so glad The Lord led you here, Jau722. Welcome, dear sister in Christ. (((hugs)))

I'm looking forward to reading what The Lord lays on your heart.

God bless and keep you, Jau722.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack
