Re: Worship Tribute
Dear Little Repention...,
I write because I feel a little concerned.
I am almost afraid to write because I don't intend criticism, but I want to say that sometimes we can be in danger of too much introspection and that can rob us of our joy in the Lord.
Remember the Word tells us in 1 John 1:9 that when we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So take care not to seek sin to such an extent that you become obsessed and lose your joy in the Lord.
“Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Ps 51:7
One night I dreamed that I was a little girl again. And in my dream I saw the Lord coming toward me as if to catch me up in His arms. And with great delight I ran to Him, and I stretched out my hands to meet His embrace, but in a moment of sudden self consciousness I became aware of the state of my sticky, dirty hands, and I pulled back. But with incredible Tenderness and a Gentle smile, He haunched down beside me, and took my hands and washed them. I can still feel the sense of that cool, refreshing water, as it gushed over those sticky fingers. And then He gathered me up into His arms. And with Breathless joy, I began to grasp hold of His garment – but again self-consciousness, because of the glorious whiteness of that garment, made me pull back and hide my hands into my chest, But He laughed and looked at me, and took my hands and showed me, saying, “Look ! Clean Hands! I have washed them – They are clean!”
What a lovely demonstration of what He does with our sin. It did not matter that my hands were dirty before. They were clean now - I would not mar His robe. He had washed me. I had no need to feel ashamed or afraid. He had washed me. Isn’t that wonderful? He has washed me.
“Oh Lord my hands would grasp Thy robe,
As You reach out to me,
But I have touched the World today,
And dare not dirty Thee,”
‘My Precious Child, I’ll wash your hands,
And make you pure within,
Whiter than the whitest snow
- Cleaner than you’ve ever been ”
~May this bless you today,
