Day 2
Not real sure how to post my daily journal. Can,t seem to find a link that says daily entry or anything. I like the part about "Sooooooo, If the shoe fits ... Slap that rascal on Cinderella so we can deal with it. "It fits my approach to allot of life. I was listening to randy Travis yesterday and forever together came on. I have spent allot of time leaving my wife alone. My intentions were honorable enough but their effect was the important part. I grew up in a heathen household where we went to church twice a year because it was good for my dads career for him to be seen there by the other officers who went twice a year. My wife has asked for a few days to get her head back on straight and even I know this is probably a good idea. We spend so much energy hashing out the points of our relationship where we have pushed each other away and hurt each other. I know these are important things because as today's lesson taught some of the junk in ur lives was planted long before we knew each other. She comes from a non-Christian home where at the age of about six she was taught that the words I love you were no longer going to be heard by her. Before me she was in several rejecting and emotionally empty relationships. I come from a family full of love but full of the world too. My "the talk" from my dad was a stack of penthouses. My dad was a smoking alcoholic and devoted to his military career. Don't get me wrong. My dad did his best always to see we were taken care of and my mom did her best to protect her children from the world. They are wonderful parents but not exactly functional. And certainly not Christian. In our desires to not be like my wife's parents and my desire to be too much like mine we created a situation of friction and hurt. I am pretty messed up emotionally from it all and dragged that need into my marriage. I acted more like I needed a mom instead of a partner. I took my dads criticism of me and put it off on my wife. Little things became huge problems and fed her fears and hurts. She needed a husband and got a rather large child. We have been married for 12 years and together for 15. I have only spent the last 6 truly trying to provide for her and my children. More years of damage vs years of trying to do right has put us where we are. I know I am not the only one that has brought us where we are but I do know that we cannot come back from here if I don't deal with me.

Re: Day 2
Hello JusJake
God bless you this day, and welcome to Christianity Oasis.
You are doing well with how you are posting, so please do not be concerned. JusJake, I'm excited for you, excited that you are taking the steps to get to know yourself AND The Lord better -- your life will be hugely impacted by a closer relationship with the Lord.
I, and others, will be following along, and cheering you on. We've all been hugely impacted by this study, too, because the study is Holy Spirit inspired and it leans heavily on The Word of God. God is so very Good, and He is NUMBER ONE!!! and, He loves you so very much.
Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you, JusJake.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack
