I regret taking Voluntary Redundancy Blog#1

Postby David001 » Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:42 pm

In 2009 I decided to take VR to gain relief from the pressure of taking over unfamiliar systems.

Three years later, and having just turned 49, I am trying to come to terms with perhaps never working again.

I am now suffering the symptoms of depression, i.e. weight loss, insomnia, I need help and encouragement to get out of this spiral.

Everything changes. Everything, everything changes.

Can you take a course at a college? Get out of the house? Get opportunities for a new position?

There are shortages in people for factory work with technical skills. Are you any good at math?

I recommend you go to a college and see what you can do. And what they can do for you. Or a tech school. Or become a phlebotomist and draw blood - I think they look for that a lot.

And of course pray for guidance. God bless.
Hugs,
Dema

David,
Get help! See a doctor. Depression doesn't get better, only worse without help and you lose all enjoyment in life. Praying also helps. God will carry you and help you through this, but he expects you to do something to. Go see a doctor.

I didn't even know what voluntary redundancy was & had to look it up. I know what you're going though & even though I didn't take a voluntary early retirement, I was fired after 18 years of service because I took a job within the company that was over my head & I tried to make it work. My life has been on a downward spirial ever since & that was 2000. I pray that God shows us both His place for us in this world because I believe we both have a lot to offer.
God Bless
