PLEASE COMMENT!
I'm thinking of posting this on my FaceBook page & want honest feedback on whether or not you think it's a good idea. I'm truely at the end of my rope & need a fresh start:
This message is to all the Joel Osteen’s, Joyce Meyer’s, Benny Hinn’s, Joseph Prince’s, etc. etc. etc. preachers out there. I am a fellow Christian who has been through many trials & tribulations have lost everything & in the process of trying to rebuild my life. I already have the help of the Lord & now I’m asking for yours! God can give me spiritual, emotional, & even physical help BUT God doesn’t have money (per se), YOU DO!!! Being you are fellow Brothers/Sisters in Christ I am asking for your financial help. I’m in a situation that without outside help it could become critical. The Lord has led me to humble myself to ask for your or any other very wealthy Brother/Sister in Christ for assistance. I am NOT going to pass any condemnation on anyone who can help but does not; I’ll leave that up to the Lord.
God Bless

Re: PLEASE COMMENT!
You are not a Christian. In your previous post you said that "If there is a God" and that you don't care about the afterlife. You live in a Christian culture and you accept the culture. But by your own words you do not accept the faith.
You obviously have been very much exposed to areas of Christianity - but that in no way makes you a Christian.
A Christian is a follower of Christ - Follow - as in go where led.
If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God rose him from the dead thou shalt be saved.
Look at Romans 10:9 and 10. I am going from memory here. Please look it up.
Lord - that word means boss. In the middle ages, the Lord was over the serfs. Serfs were a baby step above slaves. Are you a near slave to Jesus?
Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God? That he was miraculously raised from the dead?
If you do, then you should also believe in life everlasting. And you profess that you do not.
This life isn't about prosperity. It is about growth. Spiritual growth. When we are growing spiritually, God will prosper us.
Paul stated, "Brethren, I wish above all things that you shall prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers."
You soul is your being - your personality. If you want you soul to prosper, you really need to prosper your spiritual life.
God loves you - very much. But he isn't going to just feed you ice cream every meal while he sees you floundering around. We grow spiritually much faster in the tough times.
If God watches as you flounder around and make wrong choices and then sends you a Salvation Army worker with a warm meal, you are a lot more likely to accept salvation - for real - than if you were living in a mansion and driving three different luxury cars when your chauffeur wasn't driving you around. Money dulls the senses in most people. It surely makes spiritual deadness a lot easier to accept.
God cares for you. Salvation is available when you accept that God is God and you are not. That he is creator and maker and that he could destroy you with a heart attack or an aneurism right now and you would not just be dead. There is a certain awe in salvation - in realizing the magnitude and power of God. And yet he sent his son to be naked on the cross - to be beaten and spit on and stripped and shown for all to see in that disgusting state.
There is definitely awe in salvation.

Re: PLEASE COMMENT!
Jesus said you could not love both the world and God, you have to love one or the other. God is there waiting, but we have to make the decision, it is our free will. I have very little money and can't work, but God provides for me. I have what I need to live. I don't have extras that I would like to have, but that is alright. I have the peace God gives and I enjoy each day he gives me.
John, when was the last time you thanked God for what you do have? As any father he likes to hear you talk to him and thank him for things he does for you. What has he done for you lately? He is still allowing you wake each morning. Pray, John, pray. God is a loving merciful God and he does not want any of us suffering. He may allow trials to come our way to try us to help our faith grow and if you talk to him, your faith will grow. He forgives any sin, did you see the word any? Jesus also said to ask, believing and the Father would give to us. He gives us what we need when we need it, not when we think we want it. He also is not going to give you something that will take you farther from him. He also does not hear any prayer from a sinner except a plea for gorgiveness, then he hears all your prayers. Humble your self to God, not man. Ask him, not man.

Re: PLEASE COMMENT!
Hello JohnR,
God bless you this day.
I do not think your approach is the way to go. I understand your feelings of desperation, but your anger is keeping you from thinking clearly.
There are organizations in your area that are equipped to help you with food, if you are hungry; with transportation, if you are stranded; and temporary housing, if you are homeless. It does require some effort on your part.
I remember you mentioning that you do not drive, but you and your wife are able to get transportation to your job, so perhaps that contact would be able to assist you in getting to a soup kitchen, or to a church. Perhaps, they too, could help you in gathering up all your dogs and cats and taking them to the Humane Society.
JohnR, I know when we don't have 2 nickels to rub together, and we turn on the TV and most of the Christian messages are geared toward money, and the twisted messages of financial prosperity, that it can turn our stomachs, and have us want to revolt, but, JohnR, that is not the solution -- not for your challenges, nor mine.
I am sending up prayers to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.
Jesus loves you, JohnR. He loves you and your wife, and your family.
God bless and keep you, JohnR.
Love,
Mack
