Postby heavenbound777 » Thu Jan 26, 2012 11:23 pm

hello everyone im new to being a christian and i was in a chat room here that had some members that were kind of clickish and not Godly i felt un comfortable after awhile and kinda ignored when i asked questions noone is better than anyone just because i havent been a christian as long doesnt mean im not as good as the rest i came here seeking spritual gudience and help to bring me closer to God and i found maybe 3 people who were answering my questions. i dont know what being a christian is all about but because of atitudes like that people tend to walk away from things which i have in the past i felt like it was worldly im alittle disappointed

dearest Heavenbound777
First I want to wish you a welcome to Oasis, next I want to address your comment of others here
I found one of the first things God spoke to me about when I stumbled into the Oasis a couple years ago was Judgement
You see I thought I was ok but I started to realize I was judging others almost constantly and didn't realize it
You can and will find some wonderful friendships here with good Christian people......concentrate on those friendships
As for Christians not acting as Christians you are right as I am a guilty one of this as well BUT please remember one important thing being Christian does not mean being perfect there was only one that was perfect....His name was Jesus
We all stumble and fall, even the best Christians....it's what you do afterwards that matters, you can lay there looking silly or say oh well I fell I might as well give in to all temptations or you can get up brush yourself off and ask for God to forgive you and to give you the strength and knowledge to not allow it to happen again.
Most importantly....God loves YOU JUST AS YOU ARE, does He want you to be weak....no, but it does NOT change His love for you.
I consider myself a Christian but I have MANY flaws but it is not for anyone of this earth to judge me....I only have ONE Judge, and the same applies to you, no one here is any better than you just as you are no better or worse than any of them
we were ALL created in His image EQUALLY.
I do not have the answers most will have for you BUT please feel free to message me anytime or post on here and I would be honored if He would allow me to help you understand any questions you may have if I am able.
You ARE here for a reason...God lead you here, I am glad to see you here and I pray God shows you the path He has for you
and I pray you find many people here to help you on your journey.
God bless

What she said! *LookUp*

I'm hoping you picked a day that wasn't representative of a normal day here... I am new to being a Christian too and my journey has been - and still is everyday - amazing, and I pray you will get the love and support you need here (as well as Church of course :) )

None of us are perfect here (least of all me!) but we welcome you with open arms, open minds and open hearts.

Please stick with us dear friend! If there's anything you need to ask me, please never hesitate. I have learned SO much in the past few months, probably 1% of what I need to know but I tell ya, I would never look back :)

May God Bless you
*Cross*

Hello again 777

I said "again" , cause we met in chat last nite . I would like to welcome you "again" , as I did in chat as did so many others that were in that room .

Though I disagree with 1st Timothy 4:12's statement of this SITE being "worldly" , I do however agree on two points you made in this post , one was that the people you met in that specific chatroom seemed "clicquish" , and that they were "too worldly" , and I am kind of glad that they were , I was one of them .
See , the room you were in was clearly marked Real Solutions , and there is a clear definition of what Real Solutions deals with , it deals with issues of addictions , and addiction is a VERY worldly issue that some of us get together to draw Spiritual strength from each other on how to overcome them , hence we need each other for only people that are inflicted with such issues would understand and be of utmost help toward each other , in other words we need to form our own 'clique' , lest someone who has no clue on such issues having to say something that would jeopordize a fellow sufferer's recovery . Maybe , just maybe , (and I repeated the word "maybe" on purpose , for nothing , absolutely nothing happens in our Lord's World by mistake ) you just stepped into a room that did not meet your expectations , that does not mean the whole site is like that , some of us , including yourself do reserve the right to discuss ANY topic or issue in a separate or open room or forum .

Now , on dealing with the title you chose for your thread -"Anger" - (which by the way was the reason of my reading the rest of the post with the intent of being of help, since I know you are new , and seeking guidance , and that is what we are here for) , but however , I was a bit disapointed , or rather confused of what the post read ... It has NOTHING to do with anger , it does however , a lot to do with resentment .

Anger is an immediate feeling toward some kind of disagreeable (to us) action taken aginst us (or wishes) .

Resentment however is , the same "anger" felt , for the same reasons , only difference being , we do it again and again in the ABSENCE of such action taken against us .

In other words , the offensive action takes place ONCE , and the feeling of anger is a very natural response and it , as well happens ONCE .... Resentment ? it happens again the next day and then again the next and it just continues on "happening" (AT OUR OWN WILL -no external action needed)

Just thought I'd clear the air a bit ;)

Luv ya , hope to see you again , both in chat and here .

In Crist , our Lord
