Music Matters... the Forum! *ohyeah*

Postby Lani » Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:28 pm

HOW EXCITING!!! to have this awesome forum to fellowship through MUSIC!

How many times have you heard a song ... that just made ya go..
Yeah, I feel that.....
Wow!...
There are words for that...
Someone else has felt this....
Thank You Lord for that Message...
You can Hear me...

I think, the reason I so enjoy music is because it has a way of reaching past our human defenses and resting its truth in our soul... Just as GOD does. Music can bring joy, tears, the need to dance, or seek forgiveness, like No conversation possibly could.

Praise.... indeed.

Then there are the songs.... that just make ya GET UP n MOVE! :) a personal fave!

I cannot wait to see what HE shares through each of ya.

*harp* I love Music... It is the next best thing that I love to do besides reading. I love to hear southern gospel.. I am a big Elvis fan, I love his gospel songs. and Michael Combs. Music really soothes my soul and relaxes me when I am stressed out about something. *Guitar* *AngelYellow*

Yes Exactly. as a matter of fact. I am a Guitarist. I Compose my own orginals. I Perform, I Record (in my own home studio). But what Im Not certain about, is; how many people Miss it when it comes the Melody. its like "Automatic" that when one says; "Song", people by default think; "Oh Lyrics". Yes Of Course Lyrics are Very Important!; When Used in a Song, that is. Words Edify or Tear Down. Jesus says that we shall; "Give An Account of Every Word that proceeds from Our Mouths" (Thank GOD for Forgiveness by the way). But like one man said; "Melody First, & Then the Lyrics". And thats A True Good & Right Principle that makes for Common sense also, because What are Lyrics, Without A Melody? Answer is; Simply a Poem at best. I Believe that the Emphasis ought to be placed on The MELODY. Besides Thats The The Foundation, of Any Song. I Believe & have Coined A Phrase; "The Message Is In The Melody". People want The Story to be readily Explianed to them, Thru; Lyrics. I Believe The Real Art Of Listening, of Anyone, especially The "Audience" is proven when They just simply Listen to The Melody, because That is what is going to take & allow them to go on A (the) Journey, Like Reading A Book, without A Narrator. Let Their own MINDS Be Free to Imagine for themsleves. To Go on the Same Journey The Composer took, to take that Dusted Trail that the Composer blazed, and Live the thoughts & feelings the Composer does & did, While & When the Composer Created The Song, every step of the way. Thats why, for one reason Ive CHOSEN to Prefer to be a Guitarist & musician, that primarily Composes Instrumentals. And yet theLyrics are Optional. But the Lyrics MUST tell the same Story, that the Melody is first? And The Composer/Lyricist (which I am both), had best make sure that they are. Thats my view. Heres a Link to one of Instrumental songs; http://www.reverbnation.com/musician/topcatjimmy Thankyou & God Bless
