So you believe you have been called? part 1
I grew up in church and have always lived for God. At a young age I recognised that the Lord was calling me into many ministries. I always love singing and now I am a worship leader.
I always wanted to make a difference in people's lives, so I became a teacher. I am blessed to be able to teach science to High school students! Because of this love I have for children, I am now the youth leader in my church. Thanks be to God.
But I have learnt that when God has a calling for our lives, He must take us through many dark and lonely valleys before He can use us. God must be able to trust you with His giftings before He can bestow them on you. You see, the reason many people turn away from God is because they weren't able to handle the tests and trials. If God has to be sure of us, He must try us to see what we are made of. Trials bring out secret things that are hidden within our hearts. These things can hinder us from effectively doing God's will. That is why you must be put into the "fire" to be purified and refined.
Only when God has proven you can He use you. Remember King David? What about Joseph, the son of Jacob? Because of the calling upon there lives, God had to test their characters! You see, if your giftings do not bring glory and honour to the Lord, then you have used them for your own selfish reasons and God will not be pleased with that.
Whatever talent we have, when we use it, Christ must be seen. Not us!
