Re: the incredible INedible egg
Hello Sortamorta
God bless you this day.
I, too, have an aversion to the smell of eggs. It's the sulphur in the egg whites that has the odor that we find offensive. I really like the taste of eggs...it's just the smell of them that bugs me.
Some people suggest when boiling eggs (for hard boiled eggs) to put white vinegar in the water while they are boiling, and also to set out a little bowl of vinegar on the kitchen counter to absorb the odor. The vinegar does not change the taste of the eggs. They also suggest, when discarding the egg shells, to wrap them in plastic before throwing them in the trashcan. I suppose if one has a garbage disposal, they could also pour a little vinegar in the garbage disposal.
White vinegar is an awesome thing. I also use pour some in each load of laundry -- maybe 1/8 - 1/4 cup per load. Makes the clothes smell so fresh and clean, without the fake perfume smell.
May be worth a try.
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack
