Losing Hope and resorting to old habits
I really need some prayer for deliverance. I had just completed the 14 day counseling session and was feeling better about myself. My situation had not changed but I was hopeful. Well I started looking back over my life getting depressed about being laid off, nothing really happening with any jobs. I messed up bad and I messed up twice. I got high. I feel lousy, scared. Very difficult to go to God. Please pray I am able to go to God and also that I am able to find a good job, some friends for fellowship. I am pretty lonely.

Hi Klynn720
Welcome to Christianity Oasis!
Heavenly Father, we come to you, in the name of Jesus, thanking you for being with us, even though we may feel
miles from you. We thank you for your mercies, which endure forever. We thank you for your wondeful grace.
Today, we stand in the gap for our sister in Christ. We ask for strength of faith for Klynn720. We pray she
humbles herself before you, reaching out to you, giving herself to you, letting go of the old man breaking
those chains of bondage. We pray she recieves new life in you. For we know when we seek you with all our heart,
wonderful things happen! We thank you for being with and calling on her, and for bringing her here to the Oasis.
May she be refreshed through the love, the support and the fellowship that is offered here in this house.
Amen.
God Bless You, Klynn720.
Timothy

Re: Losing Hope and resorting to old habits
hi klynn... don't dwell on the mess ups, get up and move forward from it now or it will keep control of you
You asked God to forgive you and He has. Ask Jesus to come back into your life stronger, that you need Him and that you are ready. He hasn't left you, you just need to be willing, even if that means doing something you don't like.
Have you looked for a church in your area? A Full gospel, Spirit filled church or maybe a home church? That is the best place to find Christians to fellowship with Home churches you usually find by word of mouth. Ask God to bring you to the right church. Ask God to bring you Christian friends
Father, I ask for new beginnings for klynn
Bring her the new people in her life, the Christian friends she needs
Bring her to a new job opportunity, one that You want her to have
And fill her with a new understanding of you Lord
A new peace
In Jesus' name I pray
amen

No fear... just freedom

Thanks Deetu,
I recently joined what I think to be a good church, but it is just going kinda slow with relationships. I also volunteer in the church office during the day since I don't work right now, but I only work with one Rev so not too many people. I am trusting God to send the right people, it's just the waiting gets tough.
Thank you for encouraging me.

Re: Losing Hope and resorting to old habits
First let me say WELCOME HOME!!!
you are with brothers and sisters here that love you and have been down the SAME roads you are traveling and some even rougher roads, PLEASE remember one thing God loves you and as for you messing up...did you ask for His forgiveness?
if so then it's done over and forgotten, you can go to Him with ANYTHING ANYTIME, it's when you DON'T go to Him that bothers Him, He wants NOTHING more than a REAL-ationship with you, He knows your thoughts before you do keep it real
If you remember in the studies it talked about when you fall, what do you do lay there and feel bad or get back up brush yourself off and move on (you look kinda silly just layin there )
Just keep asking God to forgive you when you fail and get back up and tell satan he ain't gona win that easy!!
Also remember you are on Gods time schedule so just be patient and know He is working on you
As for the drugs (getting high) when you feel that urge go to God and ask for Him to take the urge away that you are not strong enough to resist it without Him ( 1 corinthians 10:13 ) you ask how I know...I smoked pot and tobaco for over 20 years and it controled me until I went to God...I don't smoke either one anymore (tobaco OR pot)
maybe the job He has in mind for you is not available yet, Just keep trying and God will lead you where He wants you.
As for the being lonely you can come here 24-7 some one is ALWAYS here,I know what you mean though human contact, try church, or volunteer
Just don't give up because then satan wins, everytime you get back up or resist, satan gets a little weaker ( I like to think it's like a knockout punch from God )
may God bless you and give you the strength to win this battle

Cuc,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes, I have asked for forgiveness and you're right, time to just move on. I do think God has the perfect job and maybe either it's not or I'm not ready yet. In the meantime I have been volunteering at the church office, just haven't met too many folks yet. I primarily work with one Revered. I just have to keep reminding myself to trust him, he knows all that I have need of. I will hold on!!!
