Just an update on the earthquake-(it was on our news ALL afternoon and evening last night and this morning) 38 confirmed dead. Rescue teams working around the clock. Several buildings have collapsed, and the top of the cathedral (which has been around for decades) is ruined.
There are still people trapped and missing.
Australia and britain have come to help.
Thank you all for your prayers, please keep lifting up these people in prayer.

Yes Lord,
We continue to pray for their strength and courage.
We thank you for walking with them through this time of need.
We pray they feel your presence, and share their strength of faith.
Amen.

I have family in Christchurch, but, Praise the lord, they are OK, apart from being very traumatized, after all its only been months since the last one ...many lives are lost, some have lost electricity, water...and homes,
loss of jobs because of business places gone....
thank you for your prayers, please pray for those who have lost loved ones..thank you so much...
Sassy. moonlight does not live near the earthquake city...he will be fine..
thank you all for your love and prayers..
many of us have family, friends in that area..and been touched by this in some way..

Prayerful, your post was a very important one.

Unbelievable trauma being suffered right now in New Zealand. A recent article about the recovery (of victim's bodies) process quoted a rescue worker, traumatised by the hopelessness of only finding the dead. He pleaded with people to pray for some miracles.

I just feel that it's important for as many people as possible to heed this person's call. Somehow, somewhere in Christchurch, Lord, please let a few miracles materialize, and people considered as good as lost, be somehow miraculously recovered and returned to their agonized loved ones.

On a broader level, may The Lord now touch on this tragedy in a way that no other can, helping the nation and those directly affected somehow go on. May those who already know Him look to him for the support they desperately need, and may others, who up to this point don't know Him, do the same.

God bless that nation and particularly the people of the Christchurch area directly affected.

My Dad is probably going down to christchurch for a few days with search and rescue to help, probably doing doorknocking to check people are ok. Can you please keep him in your prayers?
