do you believe in God

Postby stillstanding » Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:38 am

I ask...myself and others...do you believe in God?
a discussion ran thru chat yesterday about whether and not people at O are "squishy"Christians. I'm not...and I am. I think about this question. Am I Peter? sometimes I probly am. I hope not. I can say to myself I will never deny Him. and I can back that up in eveidence of my past. and He has stood with me always. when it comes down to the wire I choose Him. i dont want any more coming down to the wires.
i think about squishy....am i bold? usually. too bold - sometimes maybe. my belief is not squishy. God is God. Jesus is His only begotten Son sent to die in my stead so i can live eternally and praise my Father who loves me. but my heart is squishy. i cry hard...and much. i hurt the same.
so am i a squishy Christian? who decides? who judges that one? we are individuals and our Father knows our hearts...no man can label me. I belong to the Most High.

Cassie
The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie/Rachel pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

(Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

Flyleaf (if you want to hear this song i have it on my cool space)

i will pull the trigger.

*angelbounce*

amen and amen!

Everyone has there part, and He makes no mistakes, one is at this level or that level for a reason and we should not look down on another, because they are right where they are supposed to be for that moment . No questions asked... just trusting Him in all things.

We are strange creatures always comparing one to another for whatever reason to find our "Niche" or status/place... but we should not look to one another but to Him who we should compare ourselves to. And although God is very much so BOLD He is also squishy :) . And it is those squishy moments in His soft arms that i love along His bold voice. Works all together. He is perfect.

God bless
love,
Jill

Do I believe in God ? ... My answer to that question has always been the same ... "Is there anyone who doesn't ?"
Oh yes , I do get that too ... "But atheists don't !! " ...My answer ? " Then what is it that they are denying ??" . I have known atheists that know exactly what page and sentence a single word in the Bible is located at than I ever will ... just to "prove" His non'existence (That means , they spend a lifetime studying Scripture *Doh* )

Squishy Vs Bold

Paul : When with the gentiles I become a gentile , when amongst Jews , a Jew .

A tool is only as good as the purpose and manner it is used for .

Being "squishy" with a knuckle-head does not do any one any good , neither does being a knuckle-head with a softie .

The same tool does NOT apply to ALL .

My 2 cent's worth .

Glad to see you have made it to CCCC .... keep up the good work .

Luv ya
In Christ , our Lord

Hi sortamorta,

I would have to say Vahn summed up a lot of my thoughts...but I want you to know that no matter what "type" of Christian others may name you...in God's eyes Christians are all the same...either you believe in Jesus as your personal savior or you don't...nothing in between...no grey area here.

luv ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hi Morta *Wave*

What stuck out to me this morning in your post is not wanting to be a Peter. Peter was the rock the church was built on. Perhaps the harder we fall the harder we fight for Him when we get back up.

Matt. 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

As far as do I believe in God. I do! At the moment I even believe He can do anything He wills. Yet at times when healing I stop believing. I haven't stopped believing in Him, yet at times don't we all stop believing in Him healing? Or Paying our bills? Or meeting our needs? When things look bleak do we still believe? Not just that He is God but that He can and will rescue us. Perhaps when the cards are on the table and times are getting really tuff we too may find ourselves frightened as Peter and running to try to save ourselves, instead of believing in Him.

Perhaps to die for Him some must loose everything.

Love ya morta *hug*

thank you all for your replies! i sooo appreciate your words of encouragement and insights:D

GBU all! i love ya, genuinely!

I agree about judging. i really really hate judging. but then i think everyone is probly guilty of it is some sense. tho we try to catch it and ask forgiveness and for His thoughts to replace ours.

it just made me think about things people say when the topic came up in chat. and i agree about the differnt stages of growth we are all in. i get bigger every day :D

I like that work "squishy" its fun to say! Yes...I do believe in God. He is the whole reason for my existance. He sent HIS son to die on the cross for my sins...and I am soo grateful for that Amazing Grace.
Ehh....Im a little squishy. I have lots of compassion and I tend to forgive and I love to love the unlovable. Thats just me. Yes...I do hate sin and dont like to see it in others and there are no grey areas when it comes to getting to heaven. Jesus is the only way. There is a right and a wrong....always. I just remember...the greatest of these is love.
