Praise & Prayer

Postby Sylvia » Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:29 am

I wanted to share with my Real Solutions Family how much the Chats on Saturday night help me. Last Saturday something Realtmg said about keeping our eyes on things above and not on the earth has helped me deal with several things this week. First of all, I have been tempted several times to drink. But as soon as the thought came into my head so did what Realtmg said. Then the second thing is my health. As most of you know I have some health problems that have gotten worse. I have had 3 MRI's in two weeks. I called my neurologist last Monday and asked if she had the results yet, she said she would not discuss it on the phone but wanted to see me this coming Monday. So any other time I would be worrying all week about it. I had my prayer warrior team at my church pray for me that I would not worry, and I haven't. Again, when the worries came knocking I had the same thought come into my head that Realtmg said about looking at things above and not below. My heavenly Father knows all about it and we will deal with it together. Amen!
The third thing is as most of you know I have a son who has aspergers syndrome plus schitzoprenia plus my anxiety disorder. My daughter just found out her son Daniel has a type of the same thing his Uncle does.
It might not be aspergers but related in the same family. My daughter is very upset. Please pray for her and her husband as they try to deal with this. But for me, again God is telling me to think on things above. God uses the disabled for He uses me with all my disabilities. We all are disabled when it comes to trying to get to heaven on our own! And without Christ in our life we all are disabled on earth.
Thank you for your prayers and thank you for Real Solutions being part of my life.
In Him

Dear Sylvia,

I've been struggling with a lot of temptation this week also, therefore I fully appreciate your post. When those thoughts come at us, they are nothing less than the fiery darts that Paul spoke of in Ephesians 6:16; "above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

I know it can be exhausting, this constant battle of the mind, which is why we are reminded repeatedly to rejoice and be thankful. When we praise God it literally lifts us out of our own struggle and brings us to the place where we realize that this is the Lord's battle and not our own.
"...for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give all of you into our hands." 1 Sam 17:47

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.Philippians 4:6

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

God bless you all I love ya so much,
