you stated here you don't see God's forgiveness...why is that? is it because you refuse His forgiveness? you don't want His forgiveness? your selfish and think you don't need His forgiveness? you think that since you don't feel you deserve forgiveness...that you can ignore His forgiveness?

For a long time, I despised God. I didn't think he cared. I didn't believe he was there for me, and I hated him for it. After this past weekend, I now see that he cares. I still, however, don't have a good picture of him. I see him on the throne with his sceptor in his hand ready to to punish me or aloof and doesn't care. I am also have a lot of guilt towards issues. I, however, don't see myself as selfish in this context.

Yes, when we are taught that God is a vengeful God, it's hard to change that but... if you ask Jesus to show himself to you thru Holy Spirit, you will start to feel the change.
God loves us and that picture of vengence was for the Wild West to get people into churches. Imagine that, man changing God's image.

Sometimes we don't feel we are worthy of His forgiveness so we hold on.
You are worthy you know.

Aha...the enemy has warped your perception of God. I encourage you to spend some time reading in the Bible...mainly the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John....these books are very interesting and share lots of Truths about Jesus and who He is. Maybe start with just 1 chapter a day...and let your eyes be opened to the Love of God!

luv ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

I am seriously not sure today step sunk in today. I am actually sure it didn't. I can understand you can't blame others for your problems. You also have to identify specifically what your problem is. However, I do not like the thing about expressing feelings. Maybe, I don't get. Maybe, I will understand better down the path. I just know for way too long I have hidden emotion and let them eat me from the inside. I refuse to do that again. I don't know. I am just confused today, but that is ok. I admit that I am confused.

Hello Angelbaby,

God bless you this day.

Did you do Step 4 or Step 5 today? I think it would help to know specifically what Step you are doing, so others can assist you.

God bless and keep you.

Hello Angelbaby :)

Thank you for letting me know what Step you are on.

What I'm about to type might include things you already know, but please bear with me. I truly want to help you with these Steps.

In Step 3 the Study talked about God's grace given to us by the bloodshed of God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Because of original sin, when Adam and Eve listened to satan instead of listening to God, their sin was handed down to every living person. Yes, their sin became an inherited trait passed down to every person born after them, and the sin trait continued generation after generation until now -- and will continue until the end of time. All human beings born, with the exception of Jesus, inherited the sinful nature.

Anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Saviour -- by acknowledging that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and asks for forgiveness by His perfect blood sacrifice, will have eternal life with God. Jesus' blood becomes our covering -- payment for our sin. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour, The Holy Spirit of God enters into us, and He helps us get rid of our sinful nature. It is all rather miraculous how God does this, but He does.

God is not just a big human. God is God. There is nothing else like Him in the universe. Human beings are the only creation that God created in His own image -- with a mind, a body, and it's own spirit. But, we are not God and we will never be God.

Over the last 6000 years, mankind has gotten more and more sinful. Even when we are believing we are being good, there is still something in us that is sinful. We need God. We need His grace. Grace is unmerited favor. We did nothing to earn it, or nothing to deserve it. It was only because of how Good God is, that He extended grace to us, and that grace comes only through the bloodshed of Jesus Christ.

Grace is forgiveness for our not being perfect. None of us is perfect. Only God is perfect.

Part of our sin nature is all these emotions: hate, fear and jealousy are just a few of the ugly and sinful emotions we inherited through original sin. It's part of our DNA -- our makeup -- our defective gene pool.

When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we were transformed -- or at least our spirit was. And by the indwelling of The Holy Spirit, He is able to slowly change us. Slowly purifying the sinful part of us. It's a process, and the process takes time -- a lifetime, and He knows just the perfect amount of time it takes for each person individually.

Most of us believe that we aren't that bad. Yea, we trip up, but we think "oh, I'm not as bad as so-and-so." God says none of us are good. (see examples: Psalm 14:3; Romans 3:10; Romans 3:12; etc.)

Remember: We are not God, and His ways are different than ours, and He has much higher standards than we do.

Most of us have heard of the Ten Commandments, but did you know there were something like Six-hundred and thirteen (or something like that) Commandments that the Israelites had to follow? And if they broke one Commandment there had to be a blood sacrifice as payment to offset the offense. Can you imagine? But guess what? Those blood sacrifices were animals, plus the people still were not able to stop their sinful nature, because they did not have God's power living on the inside of them -- in the form of The Holy Spirit. And, that covenant/promise agreement between God and His people was only for Jews born from the bloodline of Israel (a man) and his descendents. I don't know about you, but that leaves me out.

Jesus Christ changed all that. Now anyone, who will accept Jesus Christ as Saviour, being that He was and is God in the flesh -- and the only true perfect and pure sacrifice -- now has blessed forgiveness extended to them. Jesus Christ is the blood covering for all sin. But each person has to accept it.

Salvation through Jesus Christ not only gives us a God promise of eternal life with Him in Heaven, but it also gives us the indwelling of The Holy Spirit right now (here on earth) -- and His job is to change us into a better person, helping us rid ourselves of that sinful nature, by the power of God which is now inside of us. We, who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we now have the power of God to forgive others too. Oh, we may not want to because of our sinful nature, but it's in there, sooooooooo we are without excuse.

Anything God requires from us, He also provides us with the power to accomplish it.

You said in your post for Step 5 that you don't understand all the emotions stuff, and that if you try to not react to things that they will eat you up from the inside. Well, Angelbaby, God says differently. He says He will give you the power to forgive, and the power of self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

It will take a little practice, Angelbaby -- but I can tell you from experience, He does help us. Just keep trying, and keep asking Him to help you. He loves you, Angelbaby. Almighty God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit loves you.

I hope I've helped explain some things. If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to write those questions down in your Blog, and I and others will try our very best to help you find the answers.

I'm praying for you, Angelbaby, and so are so many others here. God's blessed will be done.

God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack

Day six, I am completely frustrated. I feel as though I am not getting it. I mean I understand you have to set goals to renew your mind. You also have to do things to strengthen your mind every day. I just feel frustrated. I guess, I feel like a kid in math who struggles with addition, but the teacher is trying to teach them multiplication. A student cannot fully grasp the concept of multiplication if at first they don't understand addition. Those two concepts are related. I just feel there is a real disconnect.

Like the analogy ...

I have homeschooled children for many years ...

When I see what you are describing ... There is one of two probs.

The student does not care to learn, for whatever reason.

OR

The student who does not comprehend multiplication should be taken back to ... Addition. Cuz one DOES require the other to carry on.

Perhaps you should begin the program again or find what it is that you have created a wall against which is now that which hinders your carrying on.

Your calling ... Your call.

P.S. You seem to ignore sharings like what mack shared without so much as acknowledging their posts which they may have received from the Lord and CHOSE to take time out of their day to share with you. They are trying to reach ya for NO gain other than to be able to help you out.

Ponder on that ...

Luv ya

I get that they are trying to help out. I am not ignoring them. I have read them all. I just don't know what to say. What am I suppose to say? What am I suppose to do? I don't know. I am thankful for the replies. I just don't know what to do with it. I am sorry if I appear rude.

Uh huh ...

Well, we BOTH know I aint here to disrespect ya ... I just wanna remove that which hinders your new life's growth.

I was just thinkin tho ... If I was TRULY seeking to heal and hooked up with a program like this one, I would ponder on that which was shared by those who have been there before me and overcame and are taking their time to share their advice with me.

Let us go back to the math analogy ...

If you are unable to do addition, you will not fare well at multiplication.

That is a no brainer ...

But, I do not sense a soul who is unable to learn, despite their apparent search for ... Higher Education in said fields.

Nehhhhhhh, I sense a soul who has been hurt and is unable to grasp the concept of this Spiritual addition. Much less multiplication.

Sooooooooooooo, where do we go from here?

BACK?

God forbid ... Been there, done that and have like 28 t-shirts.

No, we gotta press on. Must move FORWARD.

But, how?

Your turn ...

Luv ya

I agree with you. I know your not here to criticze me. I just had feelings as I did as a kid not understanding what I did or was doing wrong. I agree, I am very confused in the addition. I feel lost on the first two or three stones how could I possible understand the others. That is what I was trying to say. I guess what is so frustrating is that I am not sure how to explain things. I am trying to explain. I am just not sure my explanations are understood.
