I thought i did this at one point but then i just find myself angry like why sould they not be accountable for the destruction they did to my life..we are accountable for our actions..why should they be let off i know jesus wants us to forgive but isn't there always a place into the bible that say do another other as they do unto you? and if i remember right somewhere it says a eye for a eye..well i am still hurting 38 yrs later i just dream it all the time..sorry i forgive my dear lord but can not forget please help me through this chapter in my life and let me find a way to move on and to heal....please dear god bring me in from the rain i am sick and cold and hurting and beg for your mercy...

tinad, yes there is a place in the Bible in the Old Testament that says an eye for an eye...but that was before grace...and before Jesus...when Jesus came things changed and forgiveness and love prevailed over laws. So here we are and you are seeking justice instead of seeking true forgiveness...tina you may not like what I say here but please know I share in love and in hopes that you will heal....you must let this go and you must put it down in order for you to have true healing...no one will force you...it's your choice...if you want to stay where you are now...then keep carrying all this pain and burden...but if you want to move forward then lay it at Jesus' feet and leave it there...no it won't be easy...and yes you will have to work at it...but it is possible...but again it's your choice....you must choose what you will do.
luv ya tinad

Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Yes, what mlg said. You are the one carrying the burden of that unforgiveness right now, not the people you can't forgive. They don't know you are holding a grudge against them, they can't feel it and most don't even know or care that you do. But it is eating at YOU.
Forgiving doesn't mean that it is okay what they did but it means that you are willing to let it go so that God can take care of it. You will still remember what happened because it happened but you will be able to remember without the pain. And then what you have gone through, you will find yourself helping others who are going through that same thing and be able to tell them that they can get out of it with God's help.
Call out to Jesus, not in desperation and doubt but with trust and belief that He will hear you. Holy Spirit will guide you if you listen and not think it's your own thoughts. And when you lay those problems, hurts at Jesus' feet.... don't pick them back up again as you leave. They are his now so believe and don't listen to any lies the enemy will try to tell you.

Hello Tina
God bless you this day.
Remember, you are the one seeking God, and seeking to understand how to live the new life Jesus has given you. Forgiveness is key to finding and understanding the key to this new life in Christ.
Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
While we learn to navigate through this new life Christ Jesus has given us, we oftentimes struggle with our old ways of doing things -- especially when most people around us are not trying to live a life in Christ. So we have to remind ourselves -- why am I doing this? because there is hope in Christ, and He called me.
It's a simple as that. Either you are in, or you are out.
But I'll tell you something else, even those of us who have seen major changes in our lives by following Christ for quite some time, we too are tempted at times to dig our heals in and give a little display of our "worldly nature"...stubborn creatures we are. The reason being -- we lose our focus, and need to be reminded why we started this whole thing -- "what is our goal?" To live the new life in Christ given to us, because He called us. JESUS LOVES YOU!!! Jesus wants you to live the new life, so He can live it through you. He doesn't want to live out His life through your old life, and He doesn't want you to live that old life, void of Him, anymore either.
The cool thing is, He also gives us brothers and sisters in Christ -- fellow servants of God, to encourage and remind one another of the goal. We also have the indwelling of The Holy Spirit which is so incredible. He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Counselor, our Coach.
As you continue on the path, you will get to know The Holy Spirit better. He is willing to be your best friend. Keep going, Tina -- keep seeking and keep reading the Study and embrace all that is being revealed to you.
I'm sending up prayers for you to our Lord, in the blessed name of Jesus.
God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Mack
