Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Beinning the Study

Postby angelbaby » Tue Aug 31, 2010 1:57 am

I started to read the study over incest survivors today. I barely finished the introduction, and I could not finish the first day. I am in tears. I have asked those question for so long and wanted answers for so long. I am not sure what to say or really say how I feel which is scary. I don't like to be without words to my feelings. I am not even sure what to say. I just guess I want someone to hear and care at the moment because I feel alone.

angelbaby....you are about to take the first step to your healing, it's like climbing a ladder, one rung at a time.
You have just touched the bottom one,
the one thing to remember it that each step you take, is another step toward freedom my dear.

Is it easy? not always, but it is worth it all when you reach the top and get a better view of life, experience freedom.
Just like someone needing surgery on some part of the body, it hurts, and there is pain for time, because the area that needs healing, as been opened and touched, thats the same as any kind of abuse,, when you need healing, it can hurt to open up the wound,
you say you cried.. tears are good, its part of the healing, as you hurt and cry, then healing is happening,
please keep climbing, you are worth it, God loves you, and knows it is not easy for you, but His arms are open wide to you

Please know that we are here for you any time..

Right now, I am terrified to go back to it. I don't handle emotions well. I either cap them or can't cope with them and wind up using the wrong coping mechanism. I am terrified of the pain and tears. I am terrified of being alone with in the study.

You are never alone. God is with you through out the entire path.

I know it's hard. Perhaps start with just a situation that doesn't cause as much pain and work on it. Process it and put it away. Then go to the next one. Don't over load yourself with trying to work on everything at once. Take it slow and steady.

*hug* Praying for you. Love you! *Pray*
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

angelbaby you are never alone. God is right there with you holding your hand. Just cry out to him and ask Him to walk with you.
Wait let me guess, you don't trust Him to much either right? Well He wants to show you that He is there for you...to help you and to walk along the way with you . Juat baby steps sis.....little baby steps. Do a little at the time and let Him hold you inbetween times.
Even in the hardest of times...He is there holding our hand

I was wondering if maybe it would be better to start with the Christian Counseling study first.

Make you stronger before facing these other things.

I'm with you, Deetu, maybe best to start with the CCCC 14-Day Counseling Study first, Angelbaby.

I'm sending up prayers for you, Angelbaby. Prayers going up to our Lord, in the name of Jesus. God's blessed will be done.

Jesus loves you.

God bless and keep you, Angelbaby.
Love,
Mack
