day 5. the calling.
last weekend when I was away was rough. I heard that one of my fellow students on my DTS (discipleship training school) had committed suicide. I felt my heart break for this man. I kept on thinking, how lost and confused he must have been, how desperate, so much darkness around him and I felt that my heart that was feeling broken, that it was a piece of Gods'heart, God showed me His heart breaking.
and once again it was a reminder, a confirmation of my calling. I have a heart for broken people. I haven't studied psychology or counseling, but my heart is just loving and tender towards people whose lives are a mess. I want to help them, to turn them back to God. so for me, my calling is something with helping people through receive emotional healing through music, prophecy, etc.
I don't know how to apply that yet, but I have ears for people who come on my path and I'm willing to step out.

You can apply it right here by reading the counseling blogs and posting to them dear sister. You don't need a degree to reach out, just the heart of God which you have and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
I'm sorry to hear of this student. May God comfort you and his family and friends.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Oh sis there are so many ways to apply the compassion you have for others. There are many hurting and lost souls in this world, who just need someone to listen. They need to know someone cares. The counseling forum here at the Oasis is just such an example of souls who need encouragement and support to get them through one more day. Reach out sis...make yourself available and God will lead souls in your direction for you to shine His light to.

day 6. ordained.
I know from experience that it is easy to feel like you're called in a certain direction, just because christians (and they mean it well..) tell you that you are great in this or that. and it might be that it is something that you're good at, or what produces fruit, but that if you look deep inside your heart, that it is not the path that God has ordained for you.
and so pondering on whether or not I'm ordained, God reminded me of a vision He gave me, 4 years ago when I was 17. I felt it was way to big for my life, for who I thought I was back then, but I knew it was God's. and in this vision I see God's calling for my life, a heart for broken people.
I know that's what I want to pursue. I hope to be more around on Oasis, just due some issues in the family (my mom is recovering from cancer, some complications now, but God is faithful) I cant be online as much as I would, but I will try.
GBU all today!

day 7. the Holy Spirit.
whooh, there is so much to say about this subject, or better phrased, this person.
I absolutely love it when He speaks, when He shows me something or reveals a new perspective. I love it when He inspires me and gives me new creativity to write new songs and see how they work out in people's lives. (I'm not a good songwriter, yet when I write inspired by the Holy Spirit, it touches people's lives). I love His encouragement and His comfort. Sometimes just saying that I'm there to listen is enough.
I have gone through times that I didn't feel Him so close and often those were times where I was struggling and was walking besides the path instead of on it. those are times when His truth will not easily land cause I'm distracted by the lies. but coming back, knowing that He is waiting is awesome. my spirit has been revived since I have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. it's still not always easy, but maintaining the relationship is the key.
a relationship is working and so is faith. it's not a one thing decision for the rest of your life, it's a daily job. but it's rewarding in the end.

awww the Holy Spirit...He is so very beautiful...I love to watch Him move in my life...and He does it so smoothly and it's definitely delightful. He has a sense of humor too and makes me laugh when the skies are rainy. I'm so glad you already have a good relationship with Him...it's very important on your walk and in your calling...as He inside you is what brings forth good fruit.

day 8. spiritual gifts.
I find it really important to use the gifts God has given you with a compassion and love towards others. it's not about you, but for the glory of God, for His name to be known. Often I use my gifts for encouragement for friends and others. as sometimes I'm having a phonecall and we close with prayer, I find it awesome to prophesy or give them a vision while I'm on the other side of the ocean. God's Spirit works and can work in every moment for the benefit of others.
I know that some of the gifts I have are prophecy, tongues, discerning. I'm not sure if I have wisdom or knowledge, but those are two that I'd love to have. I've also found out that people feel at ease around me, as I listen and encourage, I've had great times praying for them and see a burden lifted of them, seeing them change right before your eyes. it's not really physical healing, but maybe emotionally? I don't really know. for me its not really important to the name the gifts and say what I got, but more to put the things I know I have or can in practice and make mistakes in them, but get up and keep growing.
I've often seen people around me describing the gifts they say they have and do nothing with it, I prefer not saying but just doing. sometimes it's better to be in the background, in order to give God all the glory.
what worries me sometimes are the people who use God's gifts to them for their own good, they are extremely dangerous and manipulative.
one thing I just want to pursue in my life is to stay humble. I learnt to say every day (and often I still forget, but it is important): I am dead. it might seem weird, but it's the key for me. I'm dead, so Christ lives in me, and all gifts He's given me are for His glory not for mine.
I am a human being, I'm someone who fails more often than I would like. I haven't figured out yet precisely what gifts I have, but I want to do the best with what I know I have. I am determined to finish this race well. I guess it's a rollercoaster with sudden twists and loopings, but it's about the finish, where I want to hear from Jesus that I did it well. and I might fail, I might make a big mess out of things (which I do pretty often as I'm still learning and growing), but that doesn't keep me from my goal, to please Jesus.
it's a long story, but it's what I had to share today. God bless you!

and it's a great story
Sis...you have gifts now that God has endowed you with...and what is more God can bestow more gifts upon you as He sees you need them. So take time to sit with God and learn about using your gifts...for His glory.

day 9. judge not.
God's grace is really important. and it's not just for when we got saved, but it is for everyday. In Lamentations it says that His mercy is new every morning. so every day we should live out of His grace, not out of striving for perfectionism and comparison with others.
through His grace we're able to fall and get up again. that's how we represent God's grace. cause if we would strive for perfectionism, people around us get discouraged and depressed since they can't meet the standard. by showing that we fail AND get up again, it's God's grace that we're representing and that will draw people. Not our laws, not our rules, cause those DO scare people away. It's for freedom that Christ has set us free, not to bring us under the law again. and so we have to live freely in that grace everyday.
and by living in that grace everyday I see in my own life that I started to see differently, I saw people with eyes of grace and love, instead of judgment and condemnation. the things we believe and live by are the standards that we judge by.
I learn a lot here and lots of things I learnt in the past are brought up to digest another time for a deeper level. its good to be here and to learn and to reflect on things.

Ya know littlesongbird...God is the only judge...and often we see souls caught up in traps and temptations of the enemy...and the enemy will try to get us to look at these souls through his eyes instead of God...if we do this we are just as guilty of sinning as the souls who are trapped in the sin...so we need to be full of grace for others just as God is for us.
Keep moving through the steps sis...you are growing so much.
