Perverse Spirit

Postby Worship Leader » Sun Jun 20, 2010 11:16 pm

I've been struggling with unwanted imaginative thoughts that would lead me into self gratification. I even get attacked in my sleep with these unwanted thoughts that would cause me to have nocturnal emissions. I am doing everything I know spiritually to stand. I'm seeking God in prayer, worship and his word daily. Every time I fall into this temptation, I would feel instant guilt, shame, condemnation and discouragement. I struggled with unwanted thoughts since I was a child. I cried out to God day and night for deliverance. I often feel like I trample upon God's grace. I love the Lord and I want to serve him with all my heart. [/b]

Hi Joey, welcome to the SOS forum. You know Joey, many many Christians struggle with sexual sins. It's so easy for the enemy to use temptations like these to pull us into sin, and he knows this, and uses it against us continually. But know this Joey, every time you fall if you will pray, God will forgive you. It's not how many times you fall or how hard you fall...it's how quickly you get back up, let God dust you off, and get back to fighting the good fight.

This forum is great to have support from others, and we are here for you.

luv ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hey Bro,

First off, I want to thank you again for blessing us with your musical talents... *Guitar* *piano* ...Awesome brother! (not to fret...already thanked Him)

Now for the thoughts...Listen, first and foremost, don't forget that God loves us. He always has, and He always will. He's the one who created us. How could He not love something He created in His image. It is sin that He hates.
I struggled for too many years with unclean thoughts, desires and actions. At the time, I didn't care, I just drank the thoughts and enjoyed their intoxication (Ever notice what is in the the word inTOXICation? And yet we gladly drink the poisons...). We willfully sin, for we have become blind to its effects. When we have come to see them for what they really are, and ask for His help, God sees that we don't want these in our lives anymore. Our problem as humans, is our minds have become so wrapped around that which we sought, we have to learn to break the cycle of sinful thinking.
We have to learn that, although Satan can continue to cause unclean thoughts to be unleashed in our minds, we must not give them any more power than any other thoughts. If we continue to fight our thoughts, and feel we are to blame, they will stick in our minds. Just as when you're thirsty, and can't get water for a while, it doesn't help to keep thinking bout it. We are better off to just let the thought continue out of our thinking process. It's the principal of surrender...quit holding on to the thoughts, and let them go to His shoulders, for Him to bear.
Psalm 51 covers this problem pretty thoroughly.

I encourage you to check the Forums to see what is offered here, and would hope that you'll check out the S.O.S. COOL Chat room tonight at 9 pm., EST.
If I can be of any help, please feel free to P.m.(private message) me, and please keep sharing when you need to.
God Bless,
W.O.
