The Counseling

Postby John Stanko » Mon Jun 14, 2010 1:14 pm

I have joined the counseling. Today I have read the word and talked to a Lady about Jesus.

I still have feelings of despair. Worried about the future too much, and wanting to be healed, to be my old jolly self. Jesus is coming soon and I'm worried about being ready.

I don't want to fear because the Bible say's the fearful will not inherit the kingdom of God, and that scares me. It's like a paradox.

hiya John..

i wanna tell ya this...He understands our humaness. He understands. He wants you to lay this down at His feet. You are saved..You are His. This fear you are carrying..He knows its there..and He's not looking for a way to keep you out of heaven. Lay this at His feet..He understands you. He is merciful..and just. Fear is being whispered to you....replace them with what the Lord has done for you..what Christ has done for you. Surrender, my brother, to His will..no matter what it is..it is good.

You are in many many prayers, bro.

in Jesus,
luv momo *Halo*

Hi John,

Welcome to Oasis.

Just wanted to add that the more you dig into the Word and into that intimate relationship with Him the less anxiety and worries you will have.

God is much BIGGER than our worries, just let them go and hand it over and trust He will take care of you because He loves you very much.

Hope to see more of you.

God bless

Hello John :)

God bless you this day.

It is good to see you again. It was nice to see you in COOL Church last night.

If I may, what Step did you read today? It's helpful for those of us that are walking with you to know which Step you are on so we can refer back to the Study and what was discussed, and possibly offer help if there is something you have a question about within the said "Step".

God bless and keep you, John.

Hello John :)

God bless you this day.

I think the portion of Step 2 that you are referring to is:

to assist you as you sojourn down THE PATH, it is important that you surround yourself with things that remind you of your purpose. Start putting up notes to yourself, visual reminders that keep you focused on serving the Lord better. These are positive reinforcements that will become part of you. While you're taking your steps through THE PATH, if anything touches your heart in a positive way, write it down and put it up someplace where you will see it often.

Well the purpose for doing this Counseling Program can vary by person, but if my memory serves me, you had said you have dealt with depression for quite some time. God is The Healer, therefore, any means by which you are reminded to think on God and His love for you is a good thing. I would imagine that hope is stirring up in you, because that is something The Holy Spirit blesses us with so very much. Hope is something mankind reaches for in times of great need. So, what a combo -- a need accompanied by hope. Woooohooooo!!!

Playing Christian music, really soothes the soul -- so check it out. :)
Write yourself little messages. I know, it may sound silly initially, but it really does help. We all need reminders. Put one in your wallet, or pocket, or next to your coffee pot, or in your briefcase or in the front of your Bible.

I love the Word of God so very much, and the scriptures shared within each step are a great way to feed your mind/soul the Word of God. Write out one or two from each step on a piece of paper and stick it in your Bible. Remember to turn to those scriptures in your Bible and read them. :)

Here's a scripture passage from from Step 2:
Romans 5:2-4, plus I added verse 1 also, so below see Romans 5:1-4.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope.

Hope this helps, John.

God bless and keep you.
In His love,
Sister Mack
