Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

It's a start...

Hey Whispering,
This is an awesome start for your husband. Thank God he has made some movement, in a positive direction!
Keep the Faith Whispering, you are doing a great job. Just remember, God works all things for our good.

Take care, and GBU!

@mlg: congrats to your daughter *Letsparty* *angelbounce* *angelbounce* :)

prayed with friend today. came home. ate lunch and cake frosting for dessert  . took nap, up now to deal with the bills. deposits hadn't made it into the bank yesterday, so nothing was paid. gotta pay stuff before I go to work tonight. Gotta try to work extra this week too. need to make up for wages lost last week. but, don't honestly want to work too much right now as my energy level is low emotionally and physically.

it's okay, though. everything will be okay.

just not really dealing with the husband right now. don't know what to do with this. don't have time to work on this right now so off to the back burner it goes.

kids are doing well, as best as i can tell.

Keep on keeping on my sister...make it through just the day...pay the bills...go to work...kiss the kids before you go...and make sure to hug hubby as well...it will help with the emotional low...

luv ya

*help*

Please pray. *Pray* *Pray* *Pray* *Pray* *Pray* *Pray* *Pray*

I have on lace up tennis shoes instead of my sandals. If I didn't, I would take off the sandals and beat my spouse. It's not so good today. I am really not happy and after all the time of being away from CO, this _____ has not actively pursued a counselor for us. On the other hand, he did go to the electronics store and spent several hours on line to find a new camera that I said I would buy for him.

Here, I am again. More time for what he wants, and nada for me, because I am too difficult. If I'm that difficult . . . . . then why?????

Thank you all for any of the quick prayers said. Boy were those needed!!!!!

Whew.

Anywhoosie, I am now seeking advice for single parenting. I can't seem to come to any conclusions regarding parenting that I would understand with spouse. Soooo, I'm trying to figure out how to raise these kids with my values on my own.

I think this will be better cause, then I know the kids will be okay by the time they are 16-18. I mean ready to be on their own. I was pretty much ready by 13. Sooo, I'm hoping if I make everything count, then I can have them ready to go by ages 16 through 18.

Why oh why, don't people get the purpose driven life stuff beyond the religion????!!!!!!!! That absolutely poaches me eggs!!!!!

:) I'm a single mom sis...and I can say it's not easy raising kids alone...but with God it is possible. He knows how to raise kids...cuz He's raised a whole bunch of them...considering every child born is His :)

I will say this though sis...things are different in the world from when we grew up...my daughter faces so much more than I ever had to face...and support and encouragement is very important...be there for your children as much as possible...the older they get the more they will need you.

Details, details please.

I'm struggling with organizing my time, etc.

I have the oldest one currently printing out subway maps and eating "a couple of cookies" - oiye. Somedays the OCD is out of control in my house. Other days, I wish I could just keep on going to work, then I wouldn't see everything happening.

I have GOTTA stay focussed on the goal. I want to raise beautiful healthy kids, though. Now then to find help to stay focussed on this goal.

One of the things I do that has really helped me a lot is meals. I try to cook one day a week that I am off for the entire week. Then I put the meals in the refrigerator and we microwave them throughout the week. That way there is always a healthy home cooked meal to choose from.

Laundry every other day...this way I can stay up with it. Housecleaning every other weekend...other than picking up stuff. Grocery buying...once every two weeks...I make a list and plan meals enough for two weeks worth. I buy groceries on the opposite weekend that I cleanhouse...to keep from overwhelming myself.

Bedtime is important...9:00 and baths and eating and homework done before that...so at 9:00 they hit the hay. My daughter is 15 now so I let her stay up til 10:00 but not later on school nights.

Hope these tips help sis.

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!!

This helps tons. I am going to write all your tips down so that I can remember them. This will also help me with my budget etc.

Goodness, I can't thank you enough, mlg.

Today, I had the boys help with sweeping, picking up and wiping down the bathrooms. Tomorrow morning will be a repeat of the same so that everyone can get used to the routine. I'm hoping to add dusting tomorrow as this needs to be done, however I don't know. The kids are only 8 and 10 but I was doing everything by the age of 10. (including all the laundry!!!)

Thanks again.
