The Power of Prayer

Postby sleeplessinflorida » Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:59 am

As I continue to learn the TRUTH I feel the presence of the Lord more and more *harp* Hallejah! I believe the Holy Spirit is helping me with prayer because prior to learning how to pray I was guilty of repetition and thinking of other things not focusing on what exactly I was praying for. Now the Holy Spirit puts words in my mind helping me to pray more effective. Keep in mind these aren't just any words, they're more like helpful hints of things I need to either work on or want. Our GOD is an AWESOME GOD! *band*

GOD knows I have much to learn and much to improve on but that is what the Power of Prayer is for when you believe and truly honest with yourself. It has been very therapeutic for me and I love it! *Pray* Thank Lord Jesus.

God is good. :)
Your words are like a sweet melody to the soul.
A reminder that prayer is a faucet we should be using, and not only a tool, but a relationship as well.

God bless and keep you.

sleepless :)

Sis...I think we all have much to improve upon...and that's why we continue in our walk to reach the promises of eternity that await us in Heaven...til then we are a work of art...and each day God touches us with another stroke of His paintbrush...adding one more coat over chipped paint.

Pray is our way of talking to God. It is very powerful as God hears us and wants to answer our prayers. He loves spending time with us through prayer.

Your doing great sleepless...keep on moving down the pathway.

luv ya

Hiya sleepless...God bless you, sis!

wanted to say that i too, have had several times in prayer when my mind would stray to so many other things..so you arent alone in that. Praise the Lord that the Holy Spirit helps in that area, too! And even when we dont know what to pray, He does. Another thing that helped with that was to begin the day praying and reading His word, just starting the day with just you and Him. Then throughout the day you will find yourself praying in your thoughts almost constantly. Im sure its different for everyone cuz each of our walks with the Lord is different..but this is what helps me to focus my thoughts more toward prayer. God bless you, sis. Keep on keepin on.

in Jesus,
love momo *Halo*

Def helps us with prayer :)

Rom 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

That is so cool. So glad that you found the Holy Spirit and are being lead and counseled by Him.

When I worship, I would find my mind wandering. I would bind the enemy. I would ask God to help me. Then one day, I decided to write down what my mind was wandering to. Once I wrote it down, that thought would leave and another would enter. Anyway, once I read what I had written, I realized God had been talking to me. Journaling is good sometimes.
