Overwhelmed, but, moving forward...
I believe in my Lord, my God. I trust in him with all my heart. I know he will protect me and see me through my current trials. Two weeks before Christmas, I was in an auto accident where my car was totaled. It was in a head-on collision and I was trapped in my car for 45 minutes. The car was on fire from what I was told - I don't remember that. Thank God I survived. My bruises and sores are almost healed. Thankfully no broken bones, internal injuries or head trauma, but, my car was totaled. A week later, I lost my job. And in the midst of all this my older teenage daughter seems to want the world to revolve around her on everything and thinks nothing of disrespecting her parents and younger teenage sister. In fact, she frequently articulates how much she hates her parents and wishes we were dead. I ask God to help me bring my family together under his love and grace. I ask God to help me financially to take care of my family, pay my bills, and replace my lost vehicle. I ask God to offer me opportunities for quick gainful employment. God has brought me to Christianity Oasis.

Day Two and working on patience...
After reading today's lesson, I remembered reading this the other day. Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of patience (cheerful endurance), so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:35-36)

Welcome to the Oasis brother in Christ
What a wonderful testimony you shared with us Thank u so much for doing so, was a blessing to read.
I was studying Matthew 6 recently, on God's provision for us, and you gotta luv that last line there:
Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
My brother? God saved your life... physically and spiritually What is He not able to do for u now? U stay faithful and when you ask, believe for it.
Its wonderful to see you on this path
GBU brother.

God did indeed bring you to Oasis and welcome
cypress, so many times you hear stories of how a person loses their jobs only to find something better in a totally different field. Sometimes God has been nudging a person to move them into a place and the person doesn't want to leave what is safe so God helps them along.
God protected you for a reason. Don't let the enemy's lies in now, keep asking and seeking what God wants you to do. Your faith is strong and He loves you.
About your daughter... I was one such daughter. I was lost and didn't know about God. The real, true God. The God of miracles, of signs and wonders. Not knowing any better, I used a Ouija board with friends. Not knowing better I watched movies and shows, read books that were not a good influence.
My suggestion is if you can find a youth group for her. One that is modern, open and progressive. Some have rock bands for the teens. Some go on retreats or mission fields. Some have healing prayers. And when the kids see the power of God working... it changes them forever.
I'm glad you found us cypress

cypress welcome to Oasis...What an ordeal you have been through and what a testimony you have. To be in a head on and trapped in a burning car for 45 minutes, I would say that our Father has a plan for you. '
As for your daughter as mentioned above I was one that child who hated her dad and loved to tell him that . I was hurting and needing the love of a Father. Maybe some one on one time with just you and her would begin to help things. Communicate with her were she is and be willing to listen without lecturing.
I pray that you will find a joy being here at Oasis. Know that you have a family here who will walk beside you and pray for you daily.
Once again Welcome to Oasis and may God Bless you

HI Cypress...welcome to Oasis!
As i was reading your post i had to think about how the Lord led me here to Oasis. Id lost everything, my job, my house, my car...everything i thought made me secure. It was only losing these things did i find my trust in the Lord. Im not assuming you are as i was..but what is clear is that you arent here by accident. He doesnt do anything without a purpose, and He works everything for the good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Hang on..cuz when He closes one door, He will open another. Endings to one thing means the beginning to something more than what we see, but in seeking His will for us, better than we imagined.
As for you daughter...she is young. we are all born selfish and Jesus knows and loves her. Keep planting seeds. Keep watering them. Keep showing her the love of Jesus and He will do the increase. May not be today or tomorrow, but God loves her and knows how to reach her the same way He reaches us. Growing beyond ourselves is a daily thing..from one glory to another...just keep praying. She is His first.
praying for you and walking with you along this journey. You are not alone.
in Jesus,
love momo

Hello cypress,
welcome to Oasis!
I am one who went through car repossesion, bankruptcy, and the last saga loss of employment...
Through it all, there were moments when i lose focus of Him and i turned into a Peter.. looking at waves and not focusing on the one who can calm the waves.
One thing i can say is although things seem hopeless, know and TRUST that God is in control of every situation and He can turn a situation that seems horrible to us at the time into a HUGE blessing.
My advice would be trust Him, seek Him out and keep focus on Him. Look to Him and ask Him for direction and understanding of the circumstances. Nothing is impossible with God. Keep looking for opportunities ask God to open doors and ask God for His favor to be upon you in the work force. Ask God for visions and wisdom for God inspired ideas. And always give Him the glory.
I pray that God will meet every one of your needs physically and spiritually.
In Jesus name Amen

The Garden Gate
I know I have a lot of weeds that I need to pull from my garden. My faith walk began fall 2008. A few months after my mothers death, I decided to convert from Catholicism and become a Christian. In March 2009, I was baptized. I still consider myself a newbie and Continue my Christian faith walk. I have a long way to go though. The interesting thing is that my wife is still Catholic (non-practicing) and our girls we haven't ever put a "religion" on them. I think my wife and girls find my Christianity interesting. They know that I've been going to Sunday School and church most Sunday's since I converted to Christianity. They know that I periodically go to a Saturday morning men's prayer breakfast and they certainly hear me listening to Christian music. I am hoping that all of what they notice it will impact them somehow and that God provide me the right opportunity to share my faith with them. I know that I have a lot of weeds in my garden that still need to be pulled. I am trying to do my best to read scripture as much as I can (and try to retain it) as well as read Christian material. It's not always easy, but, I know I need to stay in his word often (ideally daily). I am trying even though sometimes my trust waivers. I keep telling myself that my strength lies in Him. I know the Lord is my shepherd and I should not be afraid. He is my strength and my Rock. I know he will help me through my current trials.

I was Catholic, didn't participate; husband still is. Know what you are talking about. Big thing is being filled with the Holy Spirit. Once our counselor is in us, helping us, it's a lot easier but unfortunately, some churches have gone so into religion that there is no room for God.
Your household is saved through you. Thank you Lord.
They can't help but see your light.
I believe that my husband will come, God has promised me so I am keeping to it, praying. I see little changes in him. He doesn't mind me playing Christian music and will sing to some songs. He doesn't lose his temper as quickly. We even pray in fast food places over our food. Little things...
Keep pulling those weeds
