This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Hi there

Postby Whisperingsprings » Sun Jan 03, 2010 8:47 am

Well, Christmas was nice this direction and to be quite honest so was New Year's Day. I worked both Christmas night and New Year's eve night and still both were good.

Life here is fine.

I am finally ready to start the 14day study and have completed day 1. I think this is a good thing.

I've been able to look at my issues without hurting so very much as I had been and for me that is a big big blessing.

I'm still dealing with my internet addiction issues as well as a couple of other problems that I mentioned initially when I joined; however, at least the internet addiction is being more strongly replaced by farmville and cafe world addiction. *Whistle* Ya know, it could be worse, so I'm not complaining at this point. ;)

I'm pondering the parable of the 2 men in the temple. One lies prostrate as the other stands saying that he is glad he hasn't sinned like so many other people etc. The man who is prostrate left the temple with more grace in God's eyes. I find that sometimes i am the one standing. Gotta work on that for sure. *Pray*

*Pray* will be praying for opportunities to meet with my accountability partners. For whatever reason, we have all lost touch. Not sure what happened but that's okay. Will be re-establishing the connection today. Will keep ya posted.

Hey, Springs!

Good to hear from you, and glad your Christmas and New Years were good :)

Had to smile when I read about your Farmville and CafeWorld play, for I know several "addicts" of those apps! Personally mine gets to be gaming (cards, scrabble, dominoes) at times... maybe we both can continue to work towards more of an Oasis addiction! ;)

Will also be praying for your reconnection with your accountability partners. I know how very important those are when dealing with these struggles! Also remember we are all here for you as well, Springs...

Take care and keep fighting... New Year will bring new strength and new opportunities for spiritual growth with our Father...

GBU,
Susi
