heart's secret

Postby breakingfree » Tue Dec 08, 2009 9:35 pm

Hi, this is something totally new to me - expressing my thoughts where other people can see them. i swore that i would never let anyone know about my secret struggles. i am terrified of people finding out - especially my family. it would break their heart. even now, i am still ashamed to even mention them. i have been struggling with binge eating and sexual fantasies/masturbation for about 6 six years now. the many times that i have said i would stop and thought i had the will power to, that many times i have failed. today i failed yet again. i am tired of the battle being lost. i always refused telling and accountability because i am so ashamed. thought i could do it on my own. but i can't - obviously. even now i am somewhat reluctant if this will help. i want to break free. not just for a couple of days, but for life.

Hey breakingfree...welcome to the Oasis. We are so absolutely delighted to have you here with us.

I want you to know that your thoughts that you share are safe here with us. We will not judge you, and we seek only to offer encouragement and friendship.

Please keep one thing in mind as you do these steps...what you believe is what you will receive....so if you believe that there is healing for you...then you will begin to see this happen.

As you go on this journey, I want you to meet my friend Jesus. He will be here with you...walking beside you and helping you as you go if you will let Him. He loves you, and He wants to become your best friend. If you begin to put Jesus first in your life...the temptations you face, will become less difficult to overcome. Healing will not happen overnight...but it will happen if you stay the path and never give up Hope in what Jesus can do for you.

I am praying for you.

Welcome again and hope to meet you in the chatroom sometime.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hey Breakingfree
Welcome to Oasis. I do not believe that you are here by accident. God works in mysterious ways if we will but trust Him. Like mlg said you are say here, we do not judge you but will love and accept you for who you are. I am so proud to see that you are doing the steps here.
There is also a forum here that deals with what you are going through called SOS You will need to talk to Skrubby or Jill in order to get in that one as it is a locked forum.
I hope that you will be open and honest with God and let him begin to heal you sis.
Once again Welcome to Oasis and I hope to see you in chat sometimes.

God Bless You

Hello breakingfree. :)
Glad you opened up.
It's difficult to walk the path alone.
Now you aren't alone, you've got friends to walk with you.
There are many that struggle with the same thing.
Bringing it into the open helps not only you, but others to reach for help.
Will be praying for you.
You can do all things through Christ who will strengthen you.

Hi breakingfree and welcome to Oasis! As everyone here has said, you arent here by accident. You were led here by the Lord, Himself. He calls, and we answer, if we so choose....and that, you have done. Sis...you are so not alone in your struggles. Shame, guilt, dispising who you believe you are..you will find that you arent who you think you are through these steps if you open your heart to Jesus and let Him show you who He sees you to be. We are here for you every step of the way, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit Who called you here will walk with you through this. We are all guilty, sinful people who are saved and justified and sanctified only by the blood and mercy of Jesus, sis. That's how our God sees us. Take a step at a time. Walk with Him through this.

Hope to get to chat with ya in chat sometime soon.

God bless you, dear sister in Jesus,

love in Christ,
momo *Halo*

Hi breakingfree, nice to meet you.
I have friends that when I tell them things I used to do in my old life, they will say "You? YOU?" Once I started giving up things to God, it became easier and easier (I started with little things first. when I saw progress with the little stuff, I moved on to the bigger problems ) The Bible calls it dying to oneself. In the empty places of the old stuff, I asked God to fill with good... I guess after a while, the good overtook the rest of me *BigGrin*

The studies here are great. Try not to doubt that these will help. Think positive.
And we are all here to help if you need it.

Hello

Postby learningtoagape » Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:58 am

Hello. I know how you feel. I struggled with my own secrets and said I would never let anyone know. I am learning now that sharing is impotant. I came to the same conclusion that I couldn't do it alone. I needed help. I would be good for a while and then bam! But just remember God has not given up on you. He loves you misakes sins and all. His blood is going to cleanse you and make you free. Just remember in all of this God still loves you even when you fall. That is the one thing that has sustained me through all my mess...the consistency of God's love.
