Why God Created Woman Explained
What Do Women Want?

Are you ready for a great adventure in Truth today?

With the Holy Spirit holding your hand, let's begin. Why are you interested in being a virtuous woman? Chances are it's because you're not satisfied with something about your life. Perhaps you've discovered over time that the way of the world doesn't make you feel secure. That's because the world lacks integrity and part of your instinctive desire as a woman is to feel safe and sound.

Think of integrity as part of your innate protective nature. Remember how you used to protect your baby dollies when you were a child? You were fearless and steadfast! That's because, God put the virtue of integrity within you, and the world hadn't persuaded you yet into desiring fun more than stability. Step out of the world and you'll feel your integrity begin to redevelop, which will give you a better foundation for your other virtues to grow as well.

Before we go any further into seeking why God created woman and the answer to the question, What do women want, I'd like to remind you again of who your betrothed is ... Dear friend, it is Jesus. Yes, even if you're married. Even if you're single, or widowed, or engaged, or young or old or pink with purple polka dots! Don't forget that He is your most beloved and all that you learn about here, is for Him. Now, we are ready to begin the study of each individual verse of the prophecy of The Virtuous Woman from Proverbs, Chapter 31.

Proverbs 12:4

A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Golly!

Think of that for just a moment. Sometimes we get in such a hurry that we fail to see the true, in depth meaning of scriptures and we just read the pretty words without really contemplating them. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband ... That implies that a virtuous woman makes her husband a king.

The purpose of women sounds like a very important role, doesn't it? We may have found one reason why God created woman already! Now let's look at the rest; but she that makes her husband ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Rotting Bones!

That sure sounds ... Deathly. Come to think of it, bones don't rot or else dinosaur bones wouldn't have lasted over millions of years.

My point? Rotting bones is quite extreme. Even after fires, bones are found. The only thing I can think of that might cause bones to rot is a wretched disease like bone cancer, or the like. It sounds grievous and painful and something you wouldn't wish on an enemy.

Why God Created Woman
What Do Women Want

At any rate, virtuous vs. shameful ... How do you want your earthly husband, and your beloved Jesus to think of you? Throughout history, virtuous women have been a rarity. This is far from God's purpose of women. Free will allows women to choose if they live a life worthy of the creation of woman or not. Some women of the Bible could hardly be deemed as virtuous, but those who were, are very admirable. Of the thousand women that Solomon loved, not a single one was virtuous, but in fact, just the opposite: they turned his heart away from the Lord.

1 Kings 11:3

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon wrote:

Ecclesiastes 7:20, 26-28

20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:
28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

Why God Created Woman Questions
What Do Women Want Answers

The question in Proverbs 31 ... Who can find a virtuous woman? if you are a woman, you must admit that it is troubling. We all want to think of ourselves as being virtuous. But, when you ponder on it for a while, the question becomes very valid. After all, if the wisest man to ever exist couldn't find one over three thousand years ago, how tough would it be to find one in this generation? This of course is true, only if you choose it to be. Being virtuous is possible for anyone. All a woman has to do, is choose.

You've probably heard this quote from Jesus before:

Matthew 22:14

Many are called, but few are chosen.

Regaining Femininity

I have a little story to share with you, which you may have read or heard of before, since it's a classic. It may answer a few questions concerning the purpose of women. Have you ever heard of king Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table? I first read an analogy about this story in a preschool newsletter. It was pointing out how children can be affected and influenced by the world. This is a story from the legend of King Arthur that dates back to the 6th century A.D. in Britain and it's the story of Sir Gawain and the witch. Sir Gawain was part of the king's court, an assembly of Arthur's formal counselors and trusted men.

What Do Women Want

Now, when king Arthur was a young man, he was caught poaching (trespassing for the purpose of hunting and/or stealing game) in another king's neighboring land. This was considered a serious crime at that time and the penalty for such, was death, but the king of the land that Arthur trespassed was so very impressed by his youth and manner, that he offered Arthur an option. Sort of like what is known today as immunity.

"Answer this question before one year expires, and I'll spare your life," he told Arthur. "The question is, What do women want?"

Well, Arthur knew this was a mystery that would bewilder even the most prudent of men, and he was hopeless of ever finding the answer. Remember now, Arthur's life is on the line, and he has been given a whole year to seek the answer, so anyone would surmise, it had better be a good one! What do women want? He asked everybody in his kingdom, from spinster to harlot to nun ... Wise man to rich man to fool. None could give him the answer, but everyone knew there was one who could ... Of course, the witch.

Everyone in Arthur's kingdom was asked, and even the women couldn't answer ... Do you find that strange? When the year had expired, king Arthur knew he would have to seek advice from the terrible hag. She agreed to provide him with an acceptable answer ... For a price. What was her price? To have the hand of Sir Gawain, the most noble knight in the court and Arthur's devoted friend, in marriage. You can imagine the anguish that Arthur was in, one can hardly think of a more horrible compromise. Heavy heartedly, Arthur approached his good friend and explained the price the witch had required. Without hesitation, Sir Gawain agreed to the terms of the bargain, as the love he held for his king and court was so far beyond measure.

The wedding day was announced, and the witch revealed her wisdom ... "What does woman really want? She wants sovereignty over her own life!" Everyone knew at once this was great feminine wisdom, and grand was the relief and elation in Arthur's kingdom. The neighboring king approved of the answer, and the life of Arthur was spared.

Wait! Let's take an important time out! Now, I have a problem with the part in that last paragraph where everyone instantly knew this was great feminine wisdom. Great Feminine Wisdom? Isn't that kind of an oxymoron? Gasp! What a horrible thing to say! ... You may be saying emphatically to your screen right now, or maybe even something a little less polite. And because you are very intelligent, you are remembering that in Step 1 we learned that wisdom is regarded as feminine. But wait a moment, there is really no such thing as great masculine wisdom either because you see, wisdom is a gift which a person receives from the Holy Spirit. The only kind of great wisdom is Godly Wisdom.

Understanding What Do Women Want

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

James 1:5

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Ecclesiastes 2:26

For God giveth to a man that is good in His sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner He giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Why God Created Woman Prophecy
What Do Women Want

Even king Solomon, who remember, was the wisest man to ever live, was granted wisdom from the Spirit of God, otherwise he would have been just as average as anyone else.

Secondly ... If anyone thinks he (or she) is wise of their own accord, take a little peek at this:

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Okay now, whether this story is actually even true or not, who really knows. It's called a legend, which by definition is a fairy tale, but at any rate, Arthur's life was spared because the witch revealed this so called ... Wisdom, of answering the question, What do women want. End of story? Not hardly.

Wedding bells!

Oh, my.

Everyone in the court gathered for the big event. Sir Gawain sat beside his betrothed, whose face was disgusting to behold, with all her teeth missing save one or two ... She drooled from her mouth ... Whose hair was filthy ... Her stench was unbearable ... Her language was brutal ... Her laughter, ghastly ... Whose table manners were atrocious. One can only imagine! She strained the court to its limits, but courtesy did prevail, and throughout the feast, Sir Gawain always treated her with consideration, gentleness and respect.

Well, bless his hearrrt. No, really. And am I the only one who thinks it's cool that old legends and fairy tales and such have a moral, and that the moral is usually that to do good is always righteous? I don't think I'm the only one.

Insight into Why God Created Woman
What Do Women Want Really

Finally, the ceremony was over, and the bride and groom retired to their chambers. Sir Gawain prepared himself for the wedding night and waited for his bride, but when she entered the room, she was a beautiful maiden, lovely to behold!

Gawain was astounded, and wanted to know what had happened. She replied that since he had treated her with courtesy, she would show her gruesome aspect half the time and her lovely aspect the other half, but he must choose ... Which by day and which by night? Or should I say witch by day or witch by night?

(Honestly ... Sometimes I just can't help myself!)

Gawain pondered the question. Did he want a disgusting hag in the privacy of their chamber at night, or did he want her horrendous countenance to be seen as his wife at court during the day? In the end he answered, "This isn't my decision to make. You must choose for yourself." She responded by declaring that he had respected her right to sovereignty over her own life, and as a result she would retain her lovely aspect both day and night.

How Does This Relate?

Now, I'm sure there are many women who read this little story and say, "Right on!" with the belief that women should have rule over their own life ... The freedom to do whatsoever they please, whenever they please, wherever they please. But let's take a closer look at things for a moment. I asked at the beginning of this step, Why are you pursuing this program? Chances are it's because you're not satisfied with something about your life. You've discovered over time that the way of the world doesn't make you feel ... Let's say complete.

The truth is that God has given us free will. Sovereignty over our own lives, and yet how do women display their femininity? Most women believe that the answer to What do women want, are the rights of a man. How feminine can that be? How virtuous can that be? How womanly can a woman be, if the attributes she desires for herself are the things that God designed for men? Well, let me help you with the answer to that ... Not very! (Not very virtuous, that is!) God gives you as a woman sovereignty over your own life, the right to choose. But, will you choose Him is the question. How do you do that? How do you be what He created you to be and not what the world says you should be?

Pay close attention to this ... Trust in God's plan. The creation of woman was not so that woman could redesign femininity to the world's standards, but to be what He designed you to be. If you're committed to Him and His plan for your life, and you rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you, your soul will become more conformed to His image. The more you become like Him, the closer you will be to the center of His will. Once you do this, your will be God's will, and everything about your femininity will be much clearer to you.

Why God Created Woman
What Do Women Want to Be

You know, there were women in history that God chose, that undeniably were given responsibilities that we normally associate with the masculine gender. I can think of two off the top of my head ... Deborah, the prophetess and judge of Israel, and Joan of Arc the well known heroine of France who was a peasant girl that with Divine guidance led the French army to several victories during the Hundred Years' War.

Does that mean every woman born should have the same power and influence that these two women were given? Don't forget, the qualities that these women had, which most people (not women alone) admire, came from God. They loved God and He, through His Spirit, gifted them with their abilities to lead and strengthen people, because it was His plan for them. It wasn't reputation and/or respect that they sought to gain because of their own capability. Did they set out to be women's rights crusaders to answer the question what do women want, and to change the role of the feminine gender that God instilled at the creation of woman and replace it with their own plan? One would hope not. Ask yourself, truly, who accomplished more for the Lord's cause ... Joan of Arc or Gloria Steinem?

Question:

Which of the following ambitions has a better outcome for your soul?

  1. Becoming a famous "Today's woman," or
  2. Representing Christ by being a virtuous woman

Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

It should be with the utmost caution that women attempt to gain power by their own ... Power. If God isn't behind you all the way, things will go wrong. Pray about it when you have a decision to make that you think falls into this area of choice. If the Lord tells you "No," forfeit the hope you had and set your mind to please Him in another way, because He does have plans for you ... Other plans. If the Lord tells you "Yes," ask for His guidance and blessings, and charge full speed ahead! But be absolutely certain that you are being led by the Holy Spirit.

Why God Created Woman for Man
What Do Women Want

I challenge you, to open your mind and heart throughout this program and learn what it means to regain femininity ... The way God intended it to be since the creation of woman ... Not the way a witch intended from a silly old legend ... Not the way modern women of today think it should be, who just can't be satisfied with how God made them ... Not the way your mom, or your sister or your friends or your senator or your professors or your therapist or Hollywood or John F. Kennedy's mama thinks it should be ... Only God. Because, really, nothing else matters.

When God sees us choose to compromise our virtues for the sake of following the world's opinion of what femininity should be, do you suppose He sees us as smelly old disgusting hags?

Proverbs 11:22

As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

In gratitude to our Lord for His prevailing courtesy, His Grace, His patience, even though time after time we strain Him to the limits, why don't we in return retain our lovely aspect ... Our virtues ... And our femininity the way our Lord intended us to be, day and night?!

When the witch was asked, What do women want, what if she had instead answered, "The question man should be asking is, What does God really want?"

The Integrity of Femininity

Probably the most difficult hurdle to jump in this program for many women is going to be learning and accepting that what the world today has taught us is feminine, is really not. It's not what God had in mind at all at the creation of woman. I urge you to say to yourself time and again, Would this be womanly in God's eyes? Ask yourself, How sure am I that this thought or action has integrity from God's point of view?

Why God Created Woman and the Purpose of Women Pitfalls
The Creation of Woman Mystery

Easy?

Nope! It's not a simple task because you have most likely been raised to believe that the world's view about virtue is true. (In case I haven't told you already, I will be repeating that last sentence only worded differently, about a million or so times during our little talks here, because many attempts repeated, complete any undertaking and it's my goal to teach you this truth!) It's no cake walk to win the wedding cake. It's not going to just fall into your lap when the music stops. It will take your sincere effort, and you will have to make difficult choices that other women, other people, will not understand. Just remind yourself:

There's the way of the world
or
There's the way of the Word!

(Get the "L" out of the world!)

To be honest, whenever I used to hear the word 'feminine' or 'femininity' or any derivation of the word, I would think of lace and frills and pictures of delicate women with a hazy halo of light around them, all pretty and meticulously kept. But after studying this more carefully, I don't think that is what femininity is at all. If God, at the creation of woman, had meant for us to be frail, weak, delicate little creatures, how would we be good helpmates or child bearers? Granted, cooking and cleaning aren't the heaviest of physical burdens to bear in life, but when God created woman and you investigate the purpose of women, God put these soulmates together in the Garden of Eden, where one might imagine the day to day tasks of life were anything but what a delicate, frail, weak individual might tolerate. There was gardening and wildlife and elements and the great outdoors and insects and no cushy home or running water or heat or A/C or electricity or ... So many things. Yes ma'am, my view of femininity is a lot more spiritual than that of most others. I no longer hold that worldly view of femininity.

Thank you for indulging me in that pit-stop about femininity, now let's get back to reality and how misguided the world is about what is truly feminine and righteous.

The world would love to have you think that being worldly is righteous. But consider our modern day television shows that continually feed unrighteousness to people, including our own children. Take the show "Desperate Housewives" for example. Just the title alone is enough to make a virtuous woman cringe. How many women do you think have been influenced by this abomination? How many instances of adultery do you think may have been avoided if this show didn't promote that it's the "in" thing? Now let me ask you this ... Are soap operas any different? Do not each and every one of them portray unfaithfulness to viewers every single day? How many people do you suppose wouldn't have been unfaithful to their spouses if they had never seen a soap opera in their lives because they wouldn't have been persuaded that it is normal, socially acceptable, expected, every day behavior, and that their own personal circumstances make it acceptable? What is it that has made this evil seem exciting to people of this generation?

What do women want? Certainly it can't be the sadness, guilt, chaos, depression, sinfulness, infamy, darkness and everything bad that these vehicles provide as examples. Don't forget, children watch these shows. YOUR children.

Nobody seems to want to say it outright, even though they know it, so I will ... Lust and fornication are major problems, and are powerful evils in the world today.

The Creation of Woman and the Purpose of Women
Why God Created Woman Concern

Lookie Loo ... Shame on You

There is a common saying that people like to use concerning members of the opposite sex. It's okay to look, but don't touch, they say. Ladies, it doesn't take great wisdom to know that Jesus didn't say that!

Remember this Truth:

Matthew 5:28

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I believe I probably just inflicted some of those friendly wounds that we talked about before. But as your friend, I tell you this for the sake of your own soul, not to deprive you of anything. The world teaches that wrong is right. Ladies, Jesus said that's a lie. It's the kiss of the enemy.

Now let's dig a little deeper into the truth of the matter. This is just between you, yourself and God, and He knows your heart, so if you're dishonest, who are you kidding? How much of your life is spent on efforts to make men lust after you?

I'll ask you some questions to help you with your answer.

  • Do you wear makeup, and why?
  • Why do you choose to wear the clothes that you wear?
  • Do you exercise for your health or for other reasons?
  • Do you wear perfume, and why?
  • Do you flirt?

Oh, I see you're having a problem with the word lust back up there in that paragraph before the questions. Okay then, let's use the word desire. How much of your life is spent on efforts to make men desire you? You decide for yourself if there are different levels of this in the Lord's eyes, for example, would your betrothed think it was any different for you to want another man to think you're just pretty, as opposed to sexy?

Now, only if the shoe fits, slam that bad boy on Cinderella. But if it doesn't, then nobody is accusing you of anything, just a friendly reminder that we should always examine our motives behind what we do. And remember that encouraging others to practice this behavior is also a big no no. A virtuous woman helps rescue others from the enemy, she doesn't push them into enemy territory.

The Creation of Woman and the Purpose of Women
Why God Created Woman - It Wasn't This

While we're at it, just between you and God still, How much of your life is spent lusting after men? And, do you believe that Jesus (your betrothed) deems lusting after celebrities different than others just because they're celebrities? (I don't think there are certain exemptions for lust because of who it is that is being lusted after. What do you think?)

The world has taught people that these things are innocent. You must judge in your own heart if God believes them to be.

You may think that I sound judgmental, but my friend, there is a difference between judging and warning. Wrong is wrong. We all have done wrong. Perhaps there is something you have done wrong in your life and a circumstance will arise again sometime, tempting you to do it again. But you may think about something you read here, and make the right decision next time. That's what I pray for. Someone must step forward or the number of souls that the devil lures away from God will just keep growing and growing.

Step right up (in a private moment with God) and confess, and repent, and be forgiven, and be free! His Grace is always waiting. The burden of knowing that you've done something wrong, yet not wanting to admit it because of pride, is too heavy a burden to bear. Free yourself of it, with God's mercy. It's so easy. Come out of the darkness of the world and into His light.

What do women want? What do you want? These don't have to be the same question. You are a unique individual that God bestowed with an intelligent mind, and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit for the mere asking. Ask Him to guide you ... Two hundred times a day if need be. He is waiting for you to rely on Him to help you.

How Do I Look?

Don't be deceived about the purpose of women ... The world has done a thorough job at deceiving women about their appearance and mannerisms, making the unacceptable the norm. God made you in His image during the creation of woman. You are beautiful. You are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. It's important that you are presentable and clean, but search your heart and discern where to draw the line. Ask yourself, Am I reflecting the image of God, or do I desire to appear as something different to the world? Does the way you present yourself say, I belong to God, or does it say, I want to be attractive to the world, in particular, members of the opposite sex?

You may wonder, because perhaps much of your life has been lived in this manner, if you can possibly be chosen to be a bride of Christ, but I assure you, it is totally possible. The wonderful thing about God's Grace, is that it is so unconditional when you are sincerely sorry for what you've done, that you can't possibly understand the depth of it. Embrace the gift ... And love Him for it like there is no tomorrow.

The Creation of Woman and the Purpose of Women
Why God Created Woman

Let's continue now with the rest today's verse:

What is the price of rubies? Dorothy's ruby slippers in The Wizard of Oz represented the means by which she returned to the safety and love of her home and family. She had them all along, but she encountered many obstacles before she learned that she could, at any time, have returned, if she had only known the secret. Your ruby slippers are your virtues. Put them on and never take them off, and once you do, you'll find they're quite valuable. They'll lead you to Paradise. Whenever evil comes calling, just put them to work and think, "There's no place like home ... With my Father."

The Bible refers to the price of wisdom as being above rubies in several places:

Job 28:18

No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

Proverbs 3:15

She [wisdom] is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Proverbs 8:11

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Virtues ... Wisdom ... Priceless!

Have a great day and as always, reflect on God's Grace , every day of your life.

More great sistership ahead, so hurry back!
