The fingerprint of God is stamped across creation. Gazing from a mountain slope into the last streaks of day as mist fills the valleys below, it is not hard to picture the loving Creator in all his glory. Drowned out by the silence of the roaring surf at the foot of the endless expanse, we understand the vastness and power of God. Nature is filled with images and evidence, a fingerprint of its Maker.

It is seen in a sunrise over the ocean. It is heard in the gentle rustling of autumn leaves. It is felt as the life-giving rain falls on parched soil. God has made his existence obvious to man.

The fingerprint is always there. Undeniable, it is stamped boldly in the complexity of life itself, in the microscopic strands of DNA, in the formation and organization of cells, and in the delicate balance of existence.

It tells us that we are not alone. It tells us that we are not without purpose. It tells us that we are loved.

The fragility of nature, and of ourselves, reminds us that, for good or bad, life is short, and so it is precious. We can invest it wisely or let the days slip like grains of sand through our fingers.

Nature leaves us with a choice. We can accept that a loving Creator made all things as He said He did, or we can reject that obvious truth. Many could accept the truth of creation if not for the obvious implications which result. If God is who He says, and what the Bible says is true, we must also accept that there is life after this life. We are left with a choice of living for ourselves and spending eternity in Hell, or living for God and spending eternity in Heaven.

People reject the simple truth of Creation, not because they do not believe it, not because it does not resound as truth in their inner core, but because they do not want to accept the rest of the story–that they are a sinner in desperate need of grace, that forgiveness only comes through Jesus Christ, that God's mercy is the only hope for mankind.

And so, rejecting God, they exchange the truth of God for a lie. They exchange the clearly planned and organized structure of created life for the accidental, the random, the unlikely, and the impossible. They reject the fingerprint because they have chosen to reject the hand that put it there.
