Sex: Male

Race: White

Age: Around 25-35 at the time of murders.

Characteristics: Authorities consider him very intelligent and wants to be in control. Methodically tied knots around wrists, ankles and throats of his victims. He is boastful and prideful, making statements like this ... "I did it myself and with no one's help. Let's put it straight." He describes the crime scenes in great detail in his letters to the authorities ... Items in the house, positions of the bodies, types and colors of clothing. Types of ropes, cords and gags. He misspells words when he writes letters, whether it be on purpose or not, is still in question.

M.O.: BTK strangler's torture method is somewhat sexual by nature. He would bind the victims and torture them repeatedly. Once the person was dead, BTK left his own semen near the victim's bodies, but did not rape them. He also takes photos during the killings and would take souvenirs. He stole Joseph Otero's watch. Then wrote in a letter to authorities ... "I needed one so I took it; runs good."

Self proclaimed: He called himself BTK strangler in a letter to the authorities after his M.O. which was to bind, torture and kill his victims.
